I think you will be a better lawyer for yourself if you go through all the pages in this forum. You will learn every step to fill the application by yourself and will recognise if any mistakes,  has been made because its your future, rather than depending on somebody else to take care of your application. Any way its up to you. I used to think the same and was looking for a good person who can handle my case but later on I realised that this forum is best if you want to prepare your application for immigration. And you can go through the above site mentioned by Jolly in the above message if you are looking for a lawyer. Good luck to you.

Without knocking anyone down, but what is the purpose of having a lawyer doing the application for you? It cost a lot of money, thousands if I am right, to something you can download for free from the Immigration website.

Yes, it seems daunting, but I never ever considered this.. I have friends in Canada, maybe that helps and this forum here is priceless!!!

It is not that difficult as long as you follow EVERY step they want you to follow!

Plus the OP is probably going to have trouble finding  a lawyer in New York who is a member of a Canadian Bar Association.
