yes , I have had more or less the same ?? but its probably better to arrive with your own laptop -you can gain all info immediately on landing : hotel , realtors ..and its will be already set and running

Laptop is required within few hours of landing, initially the new immigrants have no access/ information on travelling, shops etc to buy laptop. It is also not cheap in Canada. Prices also vary from store to store. It is better to bring your old laptop or buy from ur place before coming.

for sure Laptop would be expensive in Bangladesh Vs Canada.
If you have friends in Canada, before landing you may also order through web and it may be delivered

laptop will surely work in canada. no hot or cold issues are associated with that. you definitely will not be using it outside when its snowing. warranty means warranty, there is no national or international warranty. warranty covers wherever you will take it whether in bangladesh , somalia or canada

that's not true warranties are country or region specififc. I have never seen an international warranty and I have bought maybe 50 computers in my life.

I believe it is better to buy from Canada & best will be through online store before landing if you have trustful friend or relatives there. I would also like to suggest buying factory refurnished laptop instead of new one. They are relatively cheap & also come with warranty.

check out futureshop.ca or bestbuy.ca to compare prices in canada and your home country...i find it's cheaper in canada if you find something you like, you can just research the store location near where you'll settle and also how to get there by public transit or taxi cab and within a 1 or few days after landing, you already have a laptop. good luck!

Asia is 5 years ahead is all sorts of IT matters comparing to North America. Take your own laptop from BD, try to buy Lenovo from Thakral (IBM's franchise in BD), they give Int'l warranties and this will work in Canada. Remember not to put your laptop under the scanner in Airports. Those rays destroy the HDD quality.
