Hi everyone

Im landing in Toronto in 3 weeks.
I have a couple of questions if anyone can help.

1. How long is the process generally in Toronto after arriving in the airport?

2. Except for my COPR, Visa, goods lists and proof of funds is there anything else it is useful to have ie photos (signed) etc?

3. Do the officials verify my photos at landing or do I still have to find a gauranteur to sign them in Canada or can I get them signed at home?

4. I intend to return the week later so what happens with my PR Card?

I know it gets posted to an address in Canada (which I will give) but the whole sending it to me in the post has me worried with the state of our postal service.....any recomendations?

Anyone who can share experiences/info I would be grateful!

Hi Steve,

I will be immigrating to Canada in April 07' and just wanted to know how did you write out your goods lists and if you used any forms provided on any of the Canadian websites?

Also did you write detailed descriptions and write a value for all items?

Any help on this would be great.

1.  Use the B4 and B4a (continuation) at http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/menu/AFAF_B-e.html 2 copies of each, 1 for goods to accompany, 1 for goods to follow.  High end items, computers, cameras, electronics, should be listed with their serial numbers.  Jewellry should have pictures and an evaluation if in goods to follow.  Others such as clothing can be listed as x boxes clothing $30 or what ever.
2.  The photos do not require a guarantor, they are for the PR Card.
3.  If you are having the PR Card sent to a friends/relative address, have them courier it to you.
4.  Have a letter from your car insurance company stating how many years of claim free driving you have, it will help in buying car insurance.
5.  Depending on your country of residence you should check the Motor Vehicle Licensing in your province of choice of how to obtain a drivers license.
6.  If you have children bring a copy of the immunization record.
