I am planning on landing in Canada in a couple of weeks but do not plan on moving until feb-march next year. Is that OK? Can I land and come back to the US the next day?

Thank You.
Does that mean I'll be asked to apply for the PR card later?
Are there any advantages/disadvantages to applying for the PR card now versus later.

The PR card is processed when you land if you have a Canadian address, where it will be mailed.  A friends address is fine.  If you don't have a Canadian address, then you have 180 days to give CIC the address.  If not, when you return to Canada, you will have to apply for the card and pick it up at an Immigration office.  Note without your PR card (unless you are a citizen of a visa exempt country) you cannot re-enter without the card on a commercial carrier.

Thanks Again. One more question.
Can my friend mail the PR cards to me in the US? or will have to get a visa and go back to Canada to pick up the PR cards for me and my family. (I need a visa to enter Canada).
Thank you.
