Hi Qorax,

I am planning to land in Toronto on March 13th (Sunday Evening 5 PM). Here are my questions.

1. Can the PR card application be done in the Airport itself or do I need to go to any service senter to do that?
2. If the PR card application can be done in Airport itself, will it be open on Sunday? Or do I need to wait in the airport until Monday to do that?

3. I think SIN card can be applied in a service center and may be I can do that on next day (Monday) - Please confirm.

Appreciate your help.

Dear Medhansh12345,

If you have already canadian address then you can apply your PR card from airport itself if you don't have one then they can give you form and fax number to fax them filled form once you have fixed canadian address. you don't have to worry about working hours of airport authority 24x7x365 days.

you can apply for your SIN to service canada centre ( Monday to friday).

Regards,

I feel Qorax is quite busy in his new office setup and may not find time to give you reply, and you are in urgency to know about your questions, so I am giving reply.
1.   Since you are landing first time your application for PR Card will be forwarded at the time of landing by the immigration officer. He is going to ask for your address ( no hotel/ office address) in Canada, so make it handy. You dont have to fill any application or pay anything.
2.   It is open 24 hours in a day, 7 days a week.
3.   SIN you can visit Sevice Canada location of Monday, those guys are closed on Sunday. Carry your passport and landing papers( CoPR)

Thanks Explorer101 for the information. I was under the impression that form IMM5444E, duly filled up, is required at the airport for applying for PR card. BTW, I plan to land in Toronto in April.

should I have to wait to get my apartment rented before I can apply for PR card? While landing all I will have is my hotel/motel address. That won't do for PR card delivery ?

Hotel/ Motel/ office address is not acceptable, give them your friends/ relatives/ known's address at the time of landing .

I think if one stays in a guest house, one could give their address for PR card purpose, without mentioning it is guest house address. Let those already settled in Canada correct me, if i am wrong.

That's correct. Similarly Hotel/Motel Addresses also work.
