Hello , So currently I'm in new York for about 1 month. An uncle is going to give me his 2001 BMW as gift, I would legally own the car. I have a few doubts that I haven't been able to clear yet. Can it be done , how does it work? I'm also entering Canada for the 1st time in 19 years as a permanent resident but with a travel document good for a single entry. Any experiences, comments, opinions are welcomed. Do I have to own the car for 6 months even if its a gift ? I understand that it has to be made in certain countries so i can look into that. What documents would I have to show the border officer? etc.. If anyone could give me like a precise list of the steps and items/documents that have to be gathered in order to insure the entry of the vehicle it would be the best.

Thanks.
