Hello,

I will be arriving in Canada hopefully this May,

I was hoping to bring about $2500 worth of Colombian handmade Filigrana jewelry for my store in Canada.

As i will be landing, would there be any problems with this? I will declare it and pay the gst, i just dont want to get into any trouble and shipments from Colombia to Canada are very expensive.

Thanks for your time,

Are you going to sell the goods after landing.  If so, according to what cbsa said in the website, it may be subject to relevant duties.

Of course you can bring commercial goods. Declare it in the embarkation form stating the value of total goods. The CBSA Officer at the counter will ask you about it and perhaps (?) they may open and view your baggage. It depends on the officer how much you have to pay as customs duty. Please note that all the arriving passenger's baggage are scanned before placing them on the conveyor at baggage claim area.

Yeah we have no problems paying the taxes and such and we dont want to cause any troubles,

Also, when my sponsor came across he brought some commercial goods from Colombia and he was expecting to pay duties. However, only had to pay GST as the customs office said there is no duty from Colombia anymore.
