Rarely does mail get lost/misplaced in Canada. So, u'll have a tough time convincing that line. The wise thing to do is to wait for it's arrival & then leave the country.

The problem here is that I can't extend my stay in Canada for more than 54 days. So I've to apply for the PRTD? is it acceptable to tell them I waited but the PR never came at the standard 43 days time?

Can you ask your landlady whether she can mail the PR card to you once she receives it?

she said that she can't do that. I'll try again to convence her. But what if she forgot or ignored the PR after I lefted Canada?

There is no "Standard 43 Days" for getting the PRC. It may come -it may not within that timeframe. As Steaky suggested, your best bet is to convince your Collector to forward it to u, in your overseas address. What's the problem (with your collector) with that?

Though sending the PRC by courier/post abroad is risky, but ppl do it all the time. It's just like sending any mail/package. Give him/her the furtherance money & s/he shouldn't have a problem with that.

Hi Qorax,

I have one question about, if we come after a week and does not get PR card because of any reasons to the given address. So for going back to Canada from india can we apply for travel document, is it easy to get it?

I was reading somewhere that to get travel document we must have been in canada for 730 days minimum!! So I am confused.. Please reply.

U read it wrong. There's no minimum timeframe to stay inside Canada to be able to apply for the PRTD in an overseas Canadian Mission.

I have no clue about the CHC-ND situation on the same, but generally obtaining the PRTD from any VO is a time consuming effort.

Each has to Land.
The PRC is one for each. Which gets filed-in automatically as the BSO completes his/her Record of Landing.

Am moving to Quebec on 02/2011. I wonder if any one landed in Quebec to share his/her experience with us.
Am still looking forward for any Quebec experience such as accommodation, life style, getting to integrate with the local people ......etc.

Bonjour tous mes copains, Qu'est-ce que vous savez d'Ahuntsic-Caterville (arrondissement)? j'ai trouvé là un beau appartement à louer au temps j'arrive.
Hello to all the forum, can someone tell me about "Ahuntsic-Caterville" town, I found a place to rent there once I land.

Thank you

The PRCs come by regular mail to the address u provided upon landing. No signatures, no acknowledgement etc is required. It just gets dropped in the addresses' mail box. Which means anyone having the key to that box can access it.

Thus, u can return the very same day of landing, after u r done with the landing procedure. U don't need to remain in Canada for any no. of days, except for the 730days in a 5yr period for maintaining your PR status.

The PRC can be received by your "collector" @ the address provided & s/he can further mail/courier to u anywhere in the world. There's a risk though, of sending it overseas (lost in transit), but ppl do it all the time.

In my COPR forms and in my passport my name is mentioned as "AKB CKD" (1st and middle name). But I want my first and last name on my PRC. How it could be possible? I am planing to land in the month of Oct-10.

Thanks

Dear Qorax,

Thank you so much for your response about PR card. Please help me with another question. Is it possible for me to register a PO BOX or it needs to be a residential address?

Thank you
