Qorax, I have a question for you. I am landing in Toronto on Aug 13 and would be returning back to US on Aug 16 to continue with my work here. For some reason, I would need to visit Canada in the end of September. This time again my stay in Canada would be only for 2 or 3 days. My questions are:
1. What is the chance that I would be receiving my PR card within this timeframe, applying on Aug 13 and planning to travel back to Canada in Sept end? (I would be giving my uncle's address in Toronto for receiving it). 2. If I can get my PR card, no issues. If I do not get it, is it possible for me to enter Canada using the same Immigration visa that we use for our landing as I have the validity till May 2011? 3. During our landing, do we get any kind of immigrant stamping done in our passport that we can show the next time we enter Canada (before we have our PR card)?
Please let me know any other suggestions you may have.

1. Possible. It usually takes around 40-45 days. 2. No, u cannot reuse the visa/s. The PRVs r one time usable only. 3. On landing the PRV will be Xed out, making it redundant. Further entries r only possible thru a PRC or PRTD. Qorax

How long does it take to receive the PR? is it 43 working days or 43 days (working + other)
Also, what If I waited for 6 weeks but didn't got the PR. Then I go out Canada.
How to apply? is it acceptable to say: never received, or lost?

1. 40-45 continious days. However, delays r possible. 2. Yes, u can leave Canada & reEnter either with the PRC (send by the collector) or thru a PRTD. 3. Query not understood. Qorax

Thank you Qorax. I am sorry to ask this as I do not want to make assumptions. What do you mean by PRC and PRTD?

Thank you for your response. How to assign collector to send me the PRC? is it legal & acceptable? What is the PRTD? I'm planning to wait for 54 days then I'll go home out of Canada for work and family arrangements. So can I apply for PR from the Canadian embassy there? and if yes, shall I say the PR never rec'd or just lost?.

The Collector is your friend/relative whose address u have used. Including Short Stay Accommodations, who provide u the "Welcome to Canada" package. PRTD: Explained above.

Thnaks. My question is: I arranged a short term stay in Cananda. But I'm planning to wait for 54 days then I'll go out of Canada. I'm worried that I may not got the PR or the collector may lost the PR or may never receive the PR. So can I apply for PRTD from the Canadian embassy there? and if yes, shall I say the PR never rec'd or just lost?.

Rarely does mail get lost/misplaced in Canada. So, u'll have a tough time convincing that line. The wise thing to do is to wait for it's arrival & then leave the country.

Dear Qorax with an extended I94/I797 of USA, will it be possible for me to enter Canada by road, complete the landing formalities and then return to USA the same day or within a few days? I do not have a valid US VISA stamped in my PP, but have the valid I797 and I 94 till Feb 2011. I plan to give my friends mailing address for receiving the SIN and PRC, but since I do not have the visa stamped in my PP, I am hesitating and worried if my re-entry to the USA will be an issue or not . Pls advice. Thank You.
