Based on what I have read in this forum, your landing procedures will be done in the port of entry.

hi qorax!

i just have another question...

my final landing destination is Edmonton, but the itenerary for my flight was Manila to Taipei,Taipei to Vancouver. then Vancouver to Edmonton.

I understand that my initial POE in Canada is Vancouver, does this mean I have to do all the landing procedures in Vancouver even though I will settle in Edmonton?

Please advice..Thank you once again! God bless!

At Vancouver.

You ask them when you land.  They will tell you how to let them know when you have an address.  You can change it online, you can call them or they can give you a form you can fax or mail in.

Thanks Leon,
I think  I have read somewhere a post by you.
advice is get a PO.Box.
and give them that as address. I was thinking of doing that.
or should I wait to get some apartment, and then give that
as address.

No. Not the PO Box address. That's not allowed. But, UPS has a 'real' Street Address scheme for their UPS Stores, spanned across Canada. U might try them. However, how that works, I'm not sure, but heard a few utilizing that facility.

U r supposed to list any thing & every thing in the GTF, Jewelry, Elctronics, Car, Household, Personal Effects et all.

For the Jewellery, u need to attach additionally the Pics only. The valuation can be personally done, based on the real-time market prices. U needn't obtain a Valuer's Report. That's what I did. I hope u have read my thread on the B4.

qorax, Maybe UPS stores are not so  trustable... dont know :S

If am staying at safestayhome, and if I shift out after getting suitable
accommodation, before the PR card comes, will they inform me?
Are they trustable? :S

Nothing will happen for getting PR card, if we email the address to the  concerned authority
after getting the preferred accommodation right?

Once u provide an address at the POE it's wise to avoid changing that again.

Safehomestay is pretty fine on the PRC forwarding thing. Yes, they do inform u once it reaches them. U can then proceed to either collect it, in person, from them or arrange for it's postage to your newer address, once u leave them.

On the Cross-Border Currency or Monetary Instruments Report and Personal Effects Accounting Document
- I need to fill the permanent address/Importer's address section on the forms but which address? The address from my home country or the address where I'm supposed to live in Canada.

Is a watch considered a jewelry? If yes, do i have to provide pictures even though I'm wearing it?

Thanks for the reply.

Dear Qorax,

I had read somewhere on your threads that the PA needs to declare all goods to carry in the B4 forms even if its being subsequently brought by the spouse if coming in later to get the benefit of duty free policy. Is this so pl guide.

Also in case i land in canada an want to come back to india just in case... then what are the norms to keep the PR alive post first landing of myself and family n taking the PR card pl guide...
