thank you for your reply, we are thinking of the bridge that is located right at Niagara Falls area and park around them on both the US and Canadian sides.

I looked up the Rainbow Bridge and you can indeed walk across it, so no problems there.

kumbu.bumbu / Karlshammar or other experts -

Could you kindly confirm if we can re-enter Canada with COPR and passport alone?  I am planning to land through US west coast in the next few months and do not plan on staying permanently (will return to Canada only in summer 2010). I have a valid US visa and I-94 until 2012.

Thanks a lot for your help!

Best Regards

Yes, you can. No problems, if you make it to the border, they will always let you in: PRs have right of entry.

If you travel commercially the carrier may refuse you if you do not have a PR card, but if they do let you on you will get in. When traveling privately this is obviously not an issue.

Curious note: A couple of weeks ago I was in the U.S.A., and when I re-entered I just gave them my passport and didn't even bother showing them my COPR, and was let in. I assume they have all the date in their system.

I just got my visas and plan to land via Detroit-Windsor tunnel. I plan to come back on my H1B visa which is valid until September 2010. May I know what documents am I supposed to carry with me for reentry to US. I would appreciate a response. Thanks.

Valid H1b visa will suffice. Keep you US DL for proof of address (Just in case).
