Dear All

I am in the process of completing my 1st landing to Toronto this coming November. Due to the nature of my work outside Canada, I am not able to stay for longer than 9 days (effectively 5 working days), and was hoping to be able to complete all the landing requirements within this time frame. In this context, I would really appreciate any help and guidance from experienced members to organize my steps for that purpose. I was planning to hire a special consultant/firm to help me in this regards but they are asking over 1,000$ which is by no means justified. Below are my thoughts:

Pre-Landing Requirements:
- Passport stamped with Immigration Visa
- Proof of funds (I am presuming a bank statement with the required funds is enough)
- Some personal passport photos (assuming these would come handy)
- Existing driver's license
- Please advise if I am missing any other stuff that is required or that would come in handy at the time to help expedite the process

Steps for Landing (By order):
1- Application for PR Card (This is done as soon as I land at the airport???)
2- Application for Social Insurance Number
3- Opening a bank account (what are the required documents for that)
4- Buying a mobile phone
5- Applying for a driver's license (what are the requirements)

Also, please let me know if the order above is incorrect or if I am missing any crucial steps in the process.

Your contribution is very much appreciated.

Thanks
Imad
