landing - crossing US border on the bus

Hi all

Has anyone landed through the US border on the bus, from Buffalo to Toronto, for example? Usually bus stays on the border for ~20-30min for immigration and passport control. How does it work if you land, will it probably take more time? Are there later buses you can take if the original one's gone? Pls reply if you had similar experience. Thanks!
