Landed

My partner and I landed at the Peace Bridge crossing on Saturday night. The entire process went very smoothly and took only about 15 mins. The immigration officer asked if we have ever been convicted of a crime, if we had ever been asked to leave Canada or been denied entry and if we had any dependents (all "no's" of course). Then she asked us to sign the confirmation of permanent residence and stapled our copies in our passports. She then congratulated us on the fact that we were now permanent residents of Canada with all the same rights and privileges of Canadian citizens except we cannot vote in federal elections.

At customs, they didn't really examine our good to follow form, just entered the approximate total value in the computer and directed us to the cashier to get a receipt.
