Hello Friends,

I landed in Canada with my family last year and came back to US after few weeks. Now we have a baby born in USA. I am planning to move permanently to Canada in August 2011.

Babygot his his US Passport but we are not US citizens. Do I have to apply PR for him now?
Can he travel to Canada and stay with us in Canada as US citizens don't need a VISA?

Any information is appreciated
Thanks

If you are permanently moving to Canada in August 2011, you can sponsor your child for PR after arriving in Canada. As the child is already a US citizen there is no need of visit visa. But once you cross the border you have to talk to the officer, who may perhaps ask you to fill up certain  forms. Your sponsorship application  and PR processing to regularize the child's residential status in Canada can be carried out accordingly.
