Hello Friends,

Just sharing my experience with you on landing.

Flew from New Delhi, India at 2:45 a.m. (flight was 1.20 mins late) and reached Canada 40 mins late from the actual time. Flight was smooth, no problems, cabin crew was nice, meal was nice. Overall, good flight and reached in time. It just took me 15 mins to get out of the air port after landing. I think it was really fast.

After coming out of the plane, I moved to a counter where the officer asked me about how much money I was carrying where i had to give the declaration form which was given in the plane. He stamped it and wrote the amount on it which i was carrying. Then he asked me to move to the immigration counter. I went there and after waiting 2 mins in queue, i was called by a nice lady to her counter and she asked me about the money and took my landing papers (COPR) and asked about how much money i have and what form and then stamped my COPR and asked me to sign it and gave me SIN and Health card form and welcomed me to Canada. It just took 3-4 mins. She was really nice.  I went ahead to the luggage collection area and took a cart by inserting $2 CAD coin and got my luggage easily as there are separate areas for each airline. My luggage was already put aside by the staff and it just took me a min to get it, and then i went ahead to the CBSA where the office checked the draft i took along and asked how much cash i have and he filled it in a form and had me sign it and then he welcomed me to Canada and asked me that i can go ahead and showed me the way to go out of the Airport. This all took 15 mins for me to get out of the air port. My sister-in-law was waiting outside, she was late as she thought it will take at least an hour for me to reach there but i was out early and she was really surprised the time it took for me.

This was all what happened in the air port.

WIll update as I have more to share.

Take Care...Have a good flight who are to come in the coming days.

Congrats,

It would be great if you can just tip with few info as I am planning to travel by AI soon to Canada.

Were you having co passengers who got PR visas from CHC, London, and if you know, did any office ask them for any other document except passport & COPR at the air port of departure (guess its Newdelhi)? How many kilos of baggages allowed in AI to Toronto, thanks

Canhope,

AI flight was good, no worries about that. No, i did not see any with PR visas around me, most of them were study or visitors. You just need PP and COPR on both sides and a ticket of course for AI  Cheesy. Two bags of 23 kg and one handbag of 8 kgs is allowed plus if you have laptop that is acceptable. Most important, if you are PR, take along the funds u need to show at the point of entry, they check it for sure. It can be draft, TC, or cash.

Hope this helps.

Thanks everyone for your wishes.

Air India lol. This carrier has huge debt to pay and it could go bust anytime. One of the worst Airlines I have ever boarded on my way to Calcutta from London.
If you had boarded on Emirates, Singapore Airlines, Turkish Airlines, you'd go senseless to see their stylish cabin and world class service.

good landing story, thanks.

In my knowledge banks do not do that if you dont have an account but companies like Thomas Cook can do that for you. You can pay through check to them and they will issue draft or TC. I did the same.

Hope this helps.
