People,

I have finally landed in Edmonton  @  911. This is my experience.

Well i started from Ahmedabd airport on 10 sept on a Jet airways flight from ahd-mumbai-heathrow-edmonton.

@ Ahmedabd-this was the most horrible part of the journey when my baggage load was over by almost 6 kgs in the baggage and 3 kgs in hand baggage. I had to leave behind my favourite masalas and food items -farsan. the goons at jet airways made me to take 23*2 and 7kgs hand baggage but i sneaked a bag pack which was about 3-4  kgs just say its a laptop bag and they will allow you. all baggage thro chkd to edmonton all boarding passes for entire journey collected.

@  mumbai -as soon as i landed i had to change the terminal took a token at domestic and moved to international--spent lot of time at duty free shopping just window shopping -saw zakir hussain but was not able to talk to him....well i was a bit scared to talk to such a great master....

@  heathrow -as my baggage was thro checked no probs. but  @  immig was carrryng a bottle of water which they removed and checked it for quality in a machine opened my bag pack but not my hand baggage...moved to terminal 3 from terminal 4 had a look at duty free shopping there. it was pretty decent and a bit crowded as its the terminal for all us and canada bound planes.

@  edmonton--was very nervous when i landed to edmonton to face the immig guys but they were great helped me thro nicely...then was moved to final immig desk where a old lady white was asking a lotz of questions to visitor visa guys...as my turn came the there were suddenly 2 immig officers ....the second guy a white man again asked me all details and my landing form had toronto written on it so he changed the address to my relatives place and made me sign on the form at 3 places and stapled the landing form to my pp...told me to be very careful with it.....finally move to collet my baggage and a immig officer lady asked for proof of funds and goods to follow list ....i said i had nothing no goods to follow...she chkd my travellers cheques and said it was only 1700 can dollars... I WAS TOTALLY SHOCKED but again composed my self said that the denomination was 500$ and not 100$ as she thot it ... she started to laugh off and agreed to her mistake....all other guys had their baggage completely opened and checked...but she asked me where i worked in india and also told me the purpose of proof of funds and goods to follow... she was also training another indian origin immig lady officer about how to handle newcomer forms...she finally said i can walk out without my baggage being opened and checked... MORAL OF THE STORY...if you are landing at lesser crowded airports keep everthing in shape also donot carry any thing that can cause problems for you...HARE KRISHNA
