Sorry we didn't get on sooner. We landed on August 27th and everything went smoothly. You go through ordinary customs (beware there is one guy there who is rude and ignorant) then you are directed to the next section where they go through your documentation and cross out your visa as you have landed. We then headed on got some welcome to canada stuff + a tote bag and then to Customs where they go through the documentation again and that's it.

Some thing to know when here. You CANNOT get a car until you have a G2 diving licence ( Most people are failed on 1st attempt of G test so easier to do G1 then G2) Car Insurance is a fortune unless you have been able to swap your licence. I am talking up to $3000 per year.

Even visitors without Canadian driver license (only home country's) can own a car in Canada.  I am told that if you show a letter from the auto insurer of your home country, you can get a discount and pay the annual premium less than $3,000.

1. Not true. U may purchase - but cannot register it, 'coz for the No. Plate u require a Canadian DL.
2. Not true, unless u r from the US - wherein they show some (very minute) consideration.
