congrats MAL!!! and welcome charmine you've come to the right place, please do stick and stay! lcw - glad you're having a good time in JA! yes carrot juice!! have some for me too please kc - sounds like you're doing good! only 20lb weight gain is fantastic!! I've already gained 5 lol I'm so worried I'll gain too much have you started your mat leave yet? good morning everyone, another week has ended and we did get some good news. I'm hoping next week brings some good news for ramdont, she and her hubby have been waiting too long to get his PP back. no real big plans for us this weekend....going to my cousin's little boy's hockey game tonight. That should be fun. And hubby started kettle bell class last night, my neighbour is an instructor and when I picked him up I never laughed so hard!!! he was walking like a cripple...poor guy, he's gonna die today lol He's gained a bit of weight since he's been here and well....before he got here too so he felt he needed to get to the gym, class is only once a week but at least it will get him out doing something and meet new people. He was real excited to go yet when I picked him up, he was whining like a baby lol it was hilarious! my neighbour said someone took pictures for a website and it will show him sitting on the ground resting while the others are doing the class...I can't wait to see that!! hahahaha Hubby was such a good sport though, he was even laughing at himself. I can't wait to see how he is after next week's class

Nae, No not yet.. I start Mat Leave on March 15th. But i did take last week off for vacation time since I moved and wanted to get everything sorted out. I figured 3 weeks before she is due would be a good time to start Mat lave. Poor Tiana has the hiccups like crazy... twice or three times a day she gets them... bless her lol Hi Proper... glad to see you at least have an update on ecas. Hope all is well.

Abacogringo, A few people have said that happened to them. It looks like there was some sort of "glitch" in the system.
Happy Sunday all!! God is good!

Good Afternoon everyone, Quick question, I was wondering if its routine for them to ask everyone for original documents to bring to kingston, Jamaica or is it only sometimes they ask that. We sent in alot of info so im just wondering if they will be asking for more and originals.

As long as the file is being processed in Kingston they always ask for originals: (Marriage and birth certificates)

i agree with ramdont 99.9 percent of the time they ask for original documents - it is a standard step they take.... some people have sent in origial birth paper and marriage certficate with their file and have obviously not been asked for originals, but this is not overly recommended and not requested (it specifically says photocopies in instructions) but it has shown to speed up the process a little bit.. (one less step). There has also been one or two cases where someone sent in colour copies of the birth and marriage cert. and have also not been asked - not sure if the Immigration officer thought it was the real thing.

I believe most peole get a phone call, if i remember correctly..... they usually ask you to bring it in but you can also courier the documents. They have also at times asked for any other supporting documents since you sent off the application as well - such as any more pictures, boarding passes and western union receipts etc (depending on the IO)

Proper,
I recieved a letter requesting original documents which read:
This letter refers to your application for permanent residents in canada.
Based on the information you have provided it will now be necessary for you to provide the original documents
Please submit these documents...in person or by registered mail ensuring your file number is enclosed.
No later than 60 days form the date of this letter...please note that your application may be delayed if requested documents are not forwarded to this office.
There was more stuff in it.....but you get the idea.
I don't know if they attempted to call and did not get me and so sent the letter, or if a letter is standard procedure.
