Hi Ramdont,
In majority cases its usually 2 weeks but people have waited longer than 2 weeks, i am certain if anyone has waited as long as you have though. have you tried contacting the embassy, email or fax? Or maybe your MP?

Thanks for your response. I am in Canada, my husband is in ja. He went to the embassy but they didn't allow him to go inside. They just told him that he just has to wait. How can we go about getting the MP involved?

Yeah, they wont allow him inside unless he they contacted him to pick-up his passport, You can try emailing them, or sending them a fax sometimes they will reply promptly. Just contact the MP for your area and ask them to find out whats going on with your file...

Well I am yet to hear of an instance when a passport was dropped off in a ''spousal'' application and the person was denied...usually there is an interview if they doubt anything...dont worry too much, send them an email and see and also contact you MP
Other forum members may soon give you their advice on this as well but as i said dont worry too much

Thank you so much my dear, I really appreciate it. I am really frustrated because I haven't seen my spouse in 4 yrs!!!! and just when we think the wait is over it's like it's starting all over again. Thanks for your consolation though, really appreciate it!!!!

It really is !!! Immigration red tape on my part, then I had to do his. But with God at the forefront of everything, nothing is impossible!!!thank. We are just one phone call away from being reunited but Kingston is taking forever to return his pp. SIGH!!!  |

Ramdot...well God be the mercy. Congrats on holding on for this long and the turmoil will soon be over and you and hubby will be reunited finally. What a reunion it will be for the two of you when he comes...you guys should think about reuniting your wedding vows again when he comes just to rejoice and know that you both made it through the storm. I cant imagine not seeing my hubby for 4 years...I have been to jamaica 5 times in 1 1/2yrs and going for #6 on Sunday. You guys are survivors and I will always think of you when I get tired and fraustrated of waiting for KGN to move on my file.

ladyposh.......we will certainly take your advise and renew our vows. I'm glad to know that I can be an inspiration to couples out there waiting in line for imigration to move so that people's lives can start moving again. How long ago have you submitted your application? My hubby submitted his pp from Dec. 16 and they r yet to call him for pick-up.

My application was filed in July and received by in KGN on Sept., 2010. My hubby received his AOR and it was dated Nov. 10, 2010....so it has been in Kingston 5 mths now....I hope KGN keeps the timelines the have for 2010 at 7-8mths....fingers crossed.

You're welcome Ramdont, I cannot imagine not seeing my husband for 4 years, just waiting a few months was hell, but now i am thinking you must have it so hard...you are one phone call away and the phone call will come but i still suggest calling you MP just to make sure there is nothing missing and so on.
Hold the faith my love, a lot of people dont know how lucky they are having their spouse come home to them every night, spending time around their loved ones while we are waiting on immigration to reunite us as moments pass when we could be doing so much to enrich our lives with our spouses....
I am praying you get a call next week. email them!
