Hi Everyone,
I know I am new to this forum and I am hoping someone can provide me with some information. As mentioned in my previous posts hubby dropped his passport off on Jan 4th I called immigration yesterday and still our permanent fee is not posted. It's getting hard waiting knowing we are at the end and yet they are holding up this stage of the process. How long does it take to see that we have paid the fee? Also I paid using my friend credit card but put my information in the payer section that should be fine right? I am getting so frustrated cause my birthday and our anniversary is in a couple weeks and this thing seems to be dragging on. Why can't Kingston contact Mississauga and have them confirm with the receipt number. After all it was done by credit card shouldn't it have been quicker?

CHild .......It can take a little while to update the information ...It took me when i paid mines  4 weeks to date from reciept...Plus this time of year holidays yadda yadda could have added a lil delay ...

Have you called cic canada ...Call Centre telephone number: 1-888-242‑2100

That is who i contacted it is them who notifies KG of the payment ...I was also told that CIC mississauga prioritizes approval of sponsorships and then processes RPRF payments....
You'll have to look at weekends, holidays that have passed...so over all ...they have had the payment a week and a little short of a month...and it just doesnt automatically UPDATE ...a person does it at CIC and they update the file notify Kingston Jamaica its payed ..dont worry it shoud be any time now..
I would call CIC give them your client ID ask them if they see notifcation has happened if they havent processed it they will say they dont see it it at all ..they wont even be able to confirm its been recieved...so call every day until they say Oh yes there is it it has been posted to your account!! If it hasnt been posted by week 6 call your local MP they will surely help!! heck call your MP now ...nothing to loose really...

Question ...when you payed by credit card did you send proof of payment to CIC in the mail??

Good luck!! i know all to well your wait and frustration been there many times!!

When I paid it I sent it by fax and mail but it was regular mail cause I was told the fax copy was just as good. The payment has been processed on the credit card I thought when my husband dropped off his passport along with a copy it would have been ok. After all it's credit card and u can check it right away. This is so frustrating.... His file is approved why hold it up any longer.... So frustrating

Thanks Everyone....I couldn't believe when they said it was posted on the file and that Kingston has been notified i called back in again to confirm because yesterday someone had given me wrong information by saying it was posted since December 21st and they ended up calling me this morning to apologize for the misinformation. When I called back I couldn't get through but the automated system said the information was forwarded to the visa office by my relative today January 14th. 2011 (which is confirmation for me Smiley...... now just waiting for that call for Passport Pickup with visa stamped....hoping hubby can be here by ending of next week.

I am so sorry it took me this long to link up on this forum because you guys are amazing. I think I want to stay on this forum even after hubby comes because I would love to pass along the support you guys have given me in such a short time to someone else who is new to the forum.....

Y'all are amazing!

Lonely_wife and nae nae thanks for the info.  I think my 58 days are up on Monday since I received my sponsorship....I'm praying he gets that letter soon.

Just out of curiosity what provinces are people from? I live in BC.

Also, why does it help to email the local MP? and how do I find out who my local MP is?

Also another congratulations to the next reunification that's up and coming how exciting.

At times I feel like pulling my hair out this process is an experience along with marital bliss that you go through on top of the missing of your loved ones.  I have been to Jamaica 10 times and married for 2.5 years.... Doesn't that say a lot about sending our package in...I'm hoping he will just get a pp call lol

Anyway thanks for the great tips!

child - we'd love for you to stay!!!  experiences and info to share to newcomers is much appreciated

can indy jam - I'm from ON and the benefit of having your Federal MP make an inquiry on your behalf is because the IO has to answer the MP, they don't have to answer you.  The MP has some push where the applicant and sponsor do not.  They also can help with instructions and sorting things out for you with Immigration.  They can act as an agent on your behalf.  You should look up your local MP on the internet....google it for your area.  Yes I do know the feeling of wanting to pull your hair out for sure!!!  I've been to JA 9 times in 2 years so almost as much as you.  It's not easy but you will get through it!  I hope your wait is a short one!!!

can-indy-jam... I am in Sudbury, Ontario... which is about 4 hours north of Toronto....

Can-indy-Jam and nae nae.... I am noticing that you and nae nae have been very fortunate to be able to go to Jamaica so often... I was only able to go 4 times in 2 years because I am a full time university student and I work full time... so no time to play and visit hubby Sad OMG its the big countdown our wedding anniversary is feb. 13 and I am landing in KG feb. 12... I am so freaking excited I haven't seen hubby since october... it will be nice to see him  Grin

btw I think we all want to pull our freaking hair out lol hahahaha

as per the mp i don't know whats going with mine but he has emailed KG 2 times and never got a responce so if we don't get a responce by this week wednesday my mp said he will be calling Ottawa to make a complaint against the IO in KG because they are not responding to him.... So I'm not sure if its just my mp that is not getting responce or what??? maybe others can share there experience???

Nae nae

Ok I get the MP thing now, thanks for the response. Well at least your a little closer in flight time to Jamaica.  I always take a whole night and part of the next day as I like to fly red eye flights so I don't have to take too much time off work.

Yes I am hopeful that this will be a fast process for us.
This is the most informative site re: Kingston processing I am so grateful for the helps and love reading the comments.

WOW Lonely_wife how exciting you must feel....

Actually I lucked out with understanding jobs and lots of overtime. I know the feeling about going to university it's a lot of time, energy and orgAnization.  I graduated almost 4 years ago and am now thinking about going for my MSters.

Does the MP update you faster than Kingston? Oh my... Well at least the MP responds not too sure about Kingston.

Keep me posted as I'm praying for ya

Can-Indy-Jam... I live off overtime lol hahahahaha short changes... freaking shift work lol but whatever pays the bills lol... I have been in school for 5 years between college and university so once I finish my degree I plan to take a year off and work and then do my masters part time...

Well for me I tried faxing and emailing KG and actually even going there and was unsuccessful everytime so I have hope that maybe the MP will help but so far no luck but at least we are moving a little forward and I feel more hopeful... From what I read from others it seems like KG don't respond to emails and faxes unless you are over the standard time which is 15 mths at this point... but do they really respond after that?? I am not so sure and I rather not wait that long to find out lol... I would love to have hubby here way sooner lol

I will post updates as to what is happening if I get a responce.

Best of luck to you
