Morning... Its my anniversary today... 2 years!! Yay! Cant believe 2 years ago to the min. I was eating my breakfast of ackee and saltfish, boiled dumplin, green banana, calalloo with fresh fruit and drinking champagne with my family friends and hubby, seaside with a warm breeze blowing.. waiting for my 8 am appt to get me hair did ( I had a 11am wedding ceremony) ahhh to be there again.

To follow up on yesterday little blurb.. my moto for most things is "nothing good comes easy"

thanks for the posts kc, glo and lcw....it was a reminder for me that marriage isn't all sunshine and flowers, it's also hard work at times.  So far so good for us but that may change once he gets here.  I know he will be home sick at some point and already warned him about that, told him it is normal and not to hide it from me.  I think not only the separation due to immigration causes trouble but the fact that our spouses are moving to an entirely different Country with a different climate and way of life.  It takes time to adapt to that and to married life as well.  It's not easy and we have to be patient and work through the bumps.

charlie - I remember putting the package together...it was certainly a long process!!  I wrote it out in rough draft first then probably twice in good lol  I read it and re-read it and second guessed myself many times. Once I sent it off I felt a like a big weight had been lifted from my shoulders!!!!  it's a great feeling, definitely worth all the work!! 

well guys....hubby is on the bus to KG as we speak       I have his flight on hold and waiting until he tells me he has the PP in hand and the VISA is stamped in it ....  then I'll be off to pay and finalize his flight woo hoo!!!!  I still can't believe this is happening!!!  maybe once his flight is booked it will all sink in.

Good Morning ALL

  Happy Anniversary KC      Time sure does fly....we will be celebrating 2 years on March 7th    and THIS year we will be together locked up in a hotel all ALONE with room service and hot tub and champagne !!! HE HE HE and I can't wait!!!!!

  NAE..can't wait for your update that hubby has his PP in his hand...THAT feeling is like no other...I actually cried when my hubby called me that day.

  Well today was the first day for my little princess to start school...and the stupid bus forgot to pick her up...so we had to rush her down to the school...she was so good...his girls are amazing, I cannot believe how well they are doing 

  As far as the french goes... it is the Quebec governement that gives the courses as it is our "Official" language here, I cannot speak for the other provinces and their governement...But it is a great service that is offered to anyone that immigrates here to this province, they garantee he will be able to speak after the course...lol.... He still has not decided as he wants to move to Ontario so he feels it is not needed.  We will see

Now lets see if hubby remember LMAO  i mentioned it briefly on the weekend but you know how some men can be already - no offense gentlemen on the forum lol  

so talking about different cultures and adjusting...and this is more on the jokey side than a serious thing....  something just popped into my head... so anyone that knows me or seen pictures of me knows that i am on the slim side.. i am not Mawga, but curvy slim k whatever, pre pregnancy i weighed 118 5 foot 2.... you get the picture... so once hubby got here to canada we would start sending photos back to JA of us, and of course his family would comment.. and one time his brother was like... yuh wifey fat eeee... and my hubby goes, yea mon, she not slim but she not big big... she just FAT (big umph on the FFFFAT)...   so I am sitting there, thinking to myself... dunn know aunty visited for that week and I am bloated and mucky and i get vex..... LOL... so obviously no girl in canada likes to be called "fat"... but in JA... no girl wants to be called "skinny" (so my hubby says).... so he gets off the phone and obviously i go into that "time of the month mode" all my answers are short, like what, yes, no, i dont care, whatever... hes like, whappen to yuh, wha do u? one min me deya pon the phone everything cris, me come off di phone and u vex wid me? wha do yuh? im like... you called me "fat" acting like a 12 year old pouting  .... he started to dead with laughter.......... telling me how "fat" is a good thing... i said the only thing you have ever said was fat on me was my..........   ..(fill in the blank)... how u mean i look fat in the photos and im not slim what does that mean??  to cut the story short, i got over it after aunty left and had to adjust.... but not without a fight... i made him adjust to a lot of things i do and say... so now we meet in the middle or "miggle"... and its happily every after  The end!

Big up to all my fluffy girls tho god created us all equally beautiful!!

hahahah love the joke canuck!!!  wait though....how can we expect charlie to do 2 jobs?  she can't do the updates and the jokes....unless she wants to.  We can all pitch in and post jokes now and then can't we???

kc - I laughed when I just read your post...SO TRUE!!! I'm not slim but I'm not huge either.  But when hubby and I first met, he was talking to a friend who knew me but didn't know me by name.  He asked hubby who he was on the phone with and hubby told him my name.  He was confused so my hubby told him my cousin's name whom he does know well, and then said the one that comes with her...you know the FAT one.  The guy said oh yeah, I know her.  Well let me tell you, I was furious and hung up on hubby.  I almost broke up with him over that.  I still haven't gotten over it lol  Hubby keeps trying to tell me how it's a compliment in JA and fat or fluffy is sexy.  I keep telling him over here it's an insult and if you call a girl fat or fluffy expect a punch lol  His friends are the same way.  One girl I met on vacation just last week was in a cab and they went over a bump and the bottom scraped on the ground (not surprising in JA) .... well the guy she was with told her she ate to much at dinner.  She is a little heavier than me and is self conscious about her weight so she was really angry and that was it for the guy she was with....DONE!!!  I tried to explain to him how insulting it is and he apologized to her but she refused to forgive him.  

oh another thing about JA....no controls or social graces!!!  we walk on the right especially when there are people coming the opposite direction, you walk on the right and everyone passes.....not in JA!!!  they stand in front of you and expect you to move.  If you don't, you get cussed out lol   And a line....shoot they have no concept of a line.  It's a crowd fighting to be first.  We line up in single file, if you leave the line, you go to the end when you come back.  Not in JA....I learned that the hard way lol  and don't get me started on how to cross the road lol  I wince almost every time.  and 1 person per seat in a taxi or bus in Canada.....it's unbelievable how many people to a seat in JA taxi's and buses....I'm always shocked at that lol

oh gosh, I suppose we can go on and on about the differences.  I explain the differences to hubby all the time so he learns the ropes of how things go here.  When I'm in JA I have to fit in and act like them....so he will have to try to do the same here.  I'm sure he'll get used to it.

Happy anniversary KC...mines is on Mrch 1st and it will be 3 years... and this july 29th will be 8 years ago we laid eyes oh wait 9 ...i dunno anymore..lol

funny true words...one thing i can tell you ...I have one funny story we were driving through spur tree...and theere was a truck load a white pickney from states or canada not to sure  ...I dont know what they were doing round there ...but i am sure from what i was told there was some orphanage round so and lots of foreing come pan the church thing to help out ...

So we pulled over on the road side to check one lady named miss moody  ...near weh them a park ...i get out ...and let me tell you ....ALL I HEAR IS HEY WHITEY....

Look and the whole of those white kids were calling me whitey ...WTF ...My husband never laughed so hard .

But all i know is thesze kids probally was hangin in JA for a likkle while and heard the term whitey and decided that i was to be called that ...LOL .....I didnt pay them no mind they all just buss out inlcluding the young Jamaican drving ...I am sure they got a good laugh outta it..

Jamaicans describe things as them see it ...it can be hard if you dont know ....i have never been troubled by anything ...well i grew round it my whole life ..

At one pint i thought them a go leggo of the whole fat ting ...and gwaan wid the fluffy but fat still dehyah...people naw leggo easily a dat ...
