So.... hubby has AOR and a file# but the website says they can't find him ....  either the number is wrong i entered in (NOT) or they haven't started processing his stuff???  REALLY??  I thought once they mailed you that you would be processing.  Anyone have any ideas??

Kmc... Did you guys get the drivers licence all sorted? To go to the US, Your hubby will need a US visa if he doesn't have a multi entry one already... This was discussed earlier this week, you can go back and read the details... Let us know how it goes...

 @  Chelley, sorry I was down with flu..I read back to what u said in regards to my taxes, I also spoke to Rev Can and I feel 100% better, will send in the forms this week. I was hearing horror stories. I need to start getting our paper work together to file, my legal name change has been a rass nightmare, which I had wanted to complete b4 I filed for my husband, but all what I try accomplish last yr went out di window because of an error on rcmp part. KMT...wasted money and time. Anyway long ting, So happy for all the updates in here I am flying out for my anniversary in 3 weeks, so I will have a little happiness seeing hubby. Hi everyone. Hope you all are doing good. KMC please do update when you figure out the US thing as hubby and I were wanting to go over. But seeing all the stuff you had to do. Right now we are fine with not going until we take care of other things. Hubby is going back to OHIP to get his card we hope. He is still waiting for his banking to be mailed. However hubby won't leave cent in the bank and takes it all the min he gets paid.lol so they won't see any debits like the lovely lady said she wants to see. He got the letter from where he works cause ya know paystubs are not enough. Awww love the goverment.
Hey did anyone read on the Jamaican newspaper about the lady who came here to visit for 1 week and was extremely harrassed with IMM at Pearson. What a story. They told her she was smuggling and that they were gonna do a complete search of her things and her body. Finally after hrs of this and mockery they let her go, only to tell her she must show up at IMM again to let them know she was leaving Canada. She did not when she flew out and now her friend has recieved a letter from IMM stating she hasn't left the country and a warrant is out. She has contacted the High Commission in Kingston and Canada IMM won't respond at all.
This lady had something like a 5 yr visa and said she will never return to Canada. Pretty sad when a visitor can't come in without this going on.

Bwoy it has been rough trying to get a minute today but here I am finally.

KMC, I believe general consensus was he would still need to apply for a US visa if he did not have one before, the Canadian PR doesn't give him any help to travel to the US. 

Abaco...eCAS is seriously under-used by KG, it is hardly ever up-to-date for applicants going through that office.  Some persons own were not updated until after they landed!

  :oUgh, I feel like I am going to throw up! I was just parusing another immigration site where some people have been waiting 48 months! what?! someone with experience out there please tell me the difference between a 3 month processing time vs a (gulp!)48 month p time. Is it all in the application ie: everything in order, fees paid upfront, documentation of relationship etc.... or is it the luck of the draw?

Hi Everyone,

I have been secretly visiting your post to obtain information about my own sponsorship of my husband in Jamaica and I have been so encouraged by each and every one of you.

I started my process back on April 2009 and on December 15th my husband received a call to bring in his passport, 2 passport sized photos, original birth certificate and our original marriage certificate. We also had to pay the right of permanent residence fee. We paid the fee the same day and he brought in those documents on January 4th.2011 as was requested. Right now we are in the waiting process to get a call for him to pick up his passport. Does anyone have any idea as to how long this might take?

hello everyone!!  I'M HOME!! lol

I haven't had a chance to read everyone's posts but will get caught up soon.

aba - my hubby dropped off his PP last week and his file number still doesn't work on ecas .... so there you go!  just use your file number that came on your sponsorship approval letter, that will show you his file too.

oh and guess what??  I ordered hubby's CAIPS notes about 2 months ago for fun....I wanted to see what was on it.  I got them in the mail while I was away.  The notes indicate a PS decision was made on Sept 9/10 then the selection and medical decisions were made on Dec 16 and there is a note to call for PP on Dec 16 but the call didn't come until Jan 4....so there you go!  So it doesn't take long for them to do the work, it just takes forever for them to look at your file.  They note the next BF date is Jan 15 so we'll see when he gets the call to pick up his passport.

child of the king - welcome!!  my husband dropped off his PP on Jan 6 and was told to expect a call in 1 to 2 weeks.  I believe it can take anywhere from 1 to 3 weeks for them to call you to pick up the PP

When they called him in December we hadn't yet paid the right of permanent residence fee and we paid it right away but as of last week it hadn't yet been posted on our file. The immigration here told me to send him a copy of the receipt of the payment with him - he did that last week when he dropped off his passport. We just want to make sure there is no hold up on him getting his passport back because we would like to be able to spend our anniversary and my birthday together which is the coming up the end of this month.

I can't complain though I have seen on the post so many people have been waiting for a long time - so I give God thanks for working so quickly on our behalf. My heart and prayers goes out to everyone that is still waiting because being a part from your spouse is one of the hardest thing to go through.

By the way ecas still says "in process" even though he got the call and his medical results have been received.
