Hello

I am new.
Does anyone know about immigration medical for child being adopted from Jamaica.
Can I do the medical with the sponsorship approval kit number?
Or do I have to wait for personal medical instructions from Kingston Visa Office that they will send
to me after they receive the permanent resident visa application from me?

I would love to do the medical asap but don't know if I have to wait for instructions from Kingston.
Tried contacting Kingston by email and fax.  They don't answer.

CONGRATS MISSING.... FYI, i also got asked for more photos.... I think (am only assuming) the reason for oure photo request wass because I wrote on the back of them ALL where it clearly states to only write on the back of ONE... Also, if they are not cut exact they may ask for more photos...if photos stuck together they will ask for more, if the photos got damaged... they will ask for more... there area few reasons why they will ask for more photos... cant narrow it down to why you got asked directly though... maybe because they want a more up to date photo... who knows... but who cares.... HUBBY IS COMING HOME FOR CHRISTMASSSSSSSSSS!! BRAP BRAP!

Morning everyone.

Kimore - sorry to hear about that, that is slackness gone bad.  I mean, how Jamaicans can be so callous when it comes to providing service for our fellow Jamaicans?  I have been raising hell with RGD since last week for my marriage certificate, finally last night I told them I was going to demand a refund of my express fee and sue them for negligence.  Bam, somebody email me this morning to tell me that the certificates are ready to be sent off.  Coming from the Canadian High Commission, that kind of foolishness is insulting.

First of all congrats on the decision to adopt a child, under any circumstance I think that is a very admirable thing to do, and a blessing for the child!! It takes a certain person to adopt. God Bless.

You will be the first official adoption case here on the Kingston forum so you might teach us a lot of things through out your case. We will most def. help out as much as possible from our basic knowledge of immigration.

In all our cases, medicals must be done prior to sending off the application to Missisauga for sponsorship approval. Is this the same procedure for adopted children?

Also, a bit more info might help us give you some advice. Are you adopting a family memeber/ a spouse child / an unknown child etc?

Good morning all.
I want to extend my congratulations to Missing........... girl, it's about time!  I didn't think anyone would pass my timeline. you had a long, difficult journey. It was not easy but you did it! It's over now.  In just a matter of weeks, your hubby will me in your arms! I am truly happy for you!!   
To answer your question: My hubby was asked to provide PP sized photos when dropping off his PP. the male receptionist told us that they were required as they also expire (he didn't specify the timeline) Because of the length of our process, they needed updated photos you know, in case there are changes in physical features or appearance. We were pissed when they called us for the p/u they asked us to bring in pictures AGAIN. Because they were LOST!     Then he was put on hold.... Sorry, they're here!


Kimore - I don't even know what to say.....well I do but the words are not appropriate for this forum 
I agree with my homegirl JW, you don't have to stress over no stupid investigation.  this is good news! The process should be smooth for you now.

kimore - did you say your hubby got the interview request on email?  and was the date for interview 2 weeks from then?  the thought ocurred to me that maybe KG entered the wrong email address and sent it to the wrong person by mistake....we all know how email works, one wrong letter and it goes to the wrong person.  Maybe you should look into the email address that it came from....I hope to God it wasn't some jerk playing a joke on your hubby cause that certainly is a horrible thing to do to someone!!!  so NOT cool!!! regardless....I know if I were you I would be hopping mad about the whole thing!!!       the only thing that would appease me is a pp dropoff call from KG so let's hope your hubby gets the call ASAP!!!!

Thanks guys for all your encouraging words, i really appreciate it.  Yes hubby sent them an email asking about the status of our application, and he got a response saying that their record shows an interview is scheduled for Nov. 22  @ 9am.  My husband was so embarrass when he showed up and oops sorry it was a mistake.  So unacceptable

The child is not a relative.  We have a licence to bring child to Canada and finish adoption here. 
We were approved for sponsorship.
Then were sent a Permanent Residence application Kit.
The Kit says Kingston will send medical instructions after we submit PR application.
We are sending that in shortly, however dependants can go for their medical
without waiting for instructions from Kingston.  Dependants use Appendix c and go on in.
We don't know if a child to be adopted can do this? Are they technically a dependant?
