Good morning my forum fam, the start of another week, lets all hope it will be as productive as the last weeks have been. alittle joke to start the week with

After thirty-five years of marriage, Bernie is lying on his deathbed and with a tear in his eye he says "Annabel before I die I have to tell you something". She replies "Yes, yes dear anything what is it?" He starts, "The first year we were together, I caught pneumonia and almost died. You sat by my bed and nursed me back to health." To which the wife nods her head and he continues, "When I lost half my family in the terrible car crash, it was you by my side who kept me going. When our kids grew up and ran away from home, you sat with me and comforted me! And when I lost everything last year in the fire at the store, you were right by my side the whole time. Annabel You've been through everything with me." Bernie says, "So before I die I just want you to know you're a friggin jinx!"

Morning everyone.  To those who have it off, happy Heroes' Day...to those working through it (like me) well, have a great day nonetheless.

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE AND HAPPY HEROES DAY TO ALL MY JAMAICAN PEEPS!

Congratulations VW on getting the call. Wishing you all the best in your future together!

Glo- 2 days to go!!   Cool

Angella - if you don't hear anything this week, you may want to consider sending a 'friendly' reminder email.

Chelley/Kimore/JW - Interesting conversation on the topic of sponsor's and stepchildren.  I was reflecting on this issue and even though our file was delayed multiple times for reasons I was aware of but still (till this day) cannot explain. Never once did it occur to me that the delays had to do with our dependant. He was never mentioned in either of our interviews.  The I/O even went as far as to 'strongly' imply that my husband had another child that I wasn't aware of.  HA!

Maybe I just felt confident because I also included evidence of my relationship with my stepson (i.e. pictures, cards, receipts of gifts) along with our application along with the affidavit from his mother relinqushing custody. I agree with Chelley though... they deny biological parents PRVs so why not the other way around.

ANYWAYZ.....

I hope that everyone has an awesome day..... KG keep the updates coming.

hey all
hope everyone is having a great day... happy heroes day to those celebrating... i stayed home from work today, was feeling a festive... and a bit sick... lol....

so someone let my 5 year old watch the news recently.. and now he's decided he's going to relay all the evil things that happen in the world in one big ball of info over breakfast... and wouldn't you know there was this war where someone got pushed out the window and he shot with a knife and got dead..... (word for word, that's what's going on in the world according to a 5 year old... NO MORE NEWS FOR HIM!) ah well...

my baby took his first step yesterday... actually he stood, clapped for himself... took a step, clapped for himself, fell on his butt and proceeded to crawl around in circles to make himself dizzy... then crawl into things (people) and laugh hysterically... yeah... crazy apparently runs in the family! Smiley

angella... hope the call comes tomorrow for you.. after they're good and rested up from a nice holiday maybe they'll be in the mood to get something done??? Smiley

maple... who knows what can delay... i know you had *issues* from someone else, so i wonder where they got those crazy ideas from Sad sad... but in the end you perservered and thankfully got the result you needed... I'd really like to find out others thoughts on the whole children thing... going to bump up that thread and see if i can someone else's thoughts... as i said, i might be overthinking it, but if it can be conceived of in one person's mind, i'm sure a dis-trusting person in immigration has already been there, bought the t-shirt and wrote the book on it.. for those interested watch for the thread and see how it goes... (as i said, i know nothing about the regulations, maybe it categorically excludes biological children?)

quick question...

We'd like for one of my brothers in law to come for a visit next year for a few weeks..anyone know how often TRV's are approved for family? Are they pretty much like all our rejected TRV's to get our spouses here, pretty much all denied? Any help would be appreciated!

Glo, your day is almost here! enjoy! Smiley

helpme... i think it's the same rules as everyone else, family in canada or not...  he'll need money, job and family on island to show the ties, but nothing is guarenteed... might luck out... might not... only thing wasted is some time and $75CAD if he doesn't... but you never know until you try...

good luck

missing... maybe it's time to "move"... try another mp...  if someone else has had a particularily responsive one maybe you can contact them and just forget to mention you don't live in their jurisdiction... not sure if anyone's had to show proof of address before engaging an MP?

maybe using a friend/auntie or whatever's address to get in front of a different person......  desperate times call for desperate measures!

helpmeplz - I have had relatives apply for the TRV - 1 was a government employee with a LOAD of evidence/ties and he was denied twice before being approved for 6 months.  On the other hand, I have another cousin, no job, no deed, barely any $ in the bank and he was approved on the first try, got 5 year re-entry... came, (applied for and was approved for an extension) left.... applied to US embassy and is now livin it up in the USA.   HAd an aunt with the same deal, no 'strong' ties, no income....APPROVED!  LOL
Point is.... no rhyme or reason.  It's just trial and re-try.   Good luck.
