missing... hopefully it's a little sooner than that i think the letter you get from the island traffic authority has to be no more than 6m old when you hand it into MTO, so it's a good plan to wait until you get passport request just in case!

chelley, ah ok nice that in ontario it's that way..unless I was speaking to an idiot that did not know what was going on but you would think when he got there yesterday they would have mentioned that to him...he has to wait one week before he can go for the test again...if he fails again he has to wait 2 weeks after that...he knows the stuff I think he might have just panicked..he was more worried about the signs and he got all of them right..hehe oh well..he has plenty of time to get it no rush...

Thanks for the info missing and chelley!
now this might be a stupid question but...... what's the best method of sending things from JA to Canada? courier? mail? and how long does the mail take from JA? we've never sent mail back and forth. I've been out there every 2 months so we just exchanged things while I was there. This time I won't be back until July as I'm running out of vacation time and money lol I just don't trust mail going through general delivery for some reason.
As for the drivers test, I believe you are allowed to bring an "interpreter" with you here in Ontario. Someone can interpret the questions and provide the answers...perhaps that's something you might want to look into.

KMC.... parents/siblings go on the "additional family members" form, no one here is eligble for sponsorship thru this process (it's a different one)... only the dependants (children who are not already canadian citizens or PRs) go on the 0008 PR form... everyone on the 0008 form needs a medical whether they are planning to immigrate or not... omission from this form is misrepresentation and anyone not included in that form cannot be sponsored at a later date (so basically that means that if he has any children at all, they should be included in that form and medicals done, even if they won't be coming with him... if he has any children from another relationship and doesn't declare them here, he will never be able to bring them to canada (and if they find out they could dismiss the application)... not sure if that applies to you, but hopefully it'll help someone ) nae nae.. fedex or the like... it's not cheap, but important documents of a time sensitive nature... worth the extra expense.. takes 2-3 days

KMC...
regarding the november medicals/police reports... since the police reports were valid when they received the application, i'd leave it up to them to re-request... they may or may not... medicals are valid for one year... if your processing time takes longer than that, they will need to be redone.. if you get the enty visa before that year, it will expire on the date of the medicals and he will need to land before that date or resubmit medicals and "renew" the entry Visa...
hope that helps

Good Morning all!
As far as the police check goes. I did not collect the police certificate. They send that directly to immigration. All I sent in was the white receipt from the fees paid. They stamp and sign it.
Its FRIDAY! Thank god I am beat. I have been working out trying to get in shape for hubby's visit. I am SORE.
Well Not been a bad week for updates. We had one PP Pickup, one approval and one AOR plus MPs contacted,
Let hope for even better next week.

Good morning all, nae I use Canada Priority Post, usually $30-40cdn depending on the weight and size, takes about 1 week. Sent Fed ex once cost $186 to send and another 100cdn to clear customs. The building in KG for police checks is hard to find, noticed everyone standing around a door and finally found it. We got a letter stating there were nothing on her record. For $4,000 JA you can have it expressed and usually get it back in 2-3 days.

Hello Forum family I havent posted much lately but i am still here reading now and then. Congrats Homesoon...I can just imagine how you must feel - at last a huge part of your life is being returned to you...14 years is a long time to be married and then to be separated. I wish you and your family a happy homecoming
Welcome to all the newbies - this is an amazing site with real testimonials that Immigration does work although sometimes at a snails pace. We were all at your stage of the game at some point or another, we went thru our depressing days when nothing much was happening, we experienced anger frustration, some had jealousy...but in the end...JOY. We learned from each others processes and experience and passed that knowledge on to those who joined after us. Many of us have stuck around to assist in anyway we can but more so cause there is a sense of kinship between us all. We were all brought into each others lives in a unique way resulting in wonderful friendship. Ask away...someone will have an answer for you...All the best in your process
Special big ups to all my frenzies...u dun know.
