Hey everyone. So I left work after 2hrs of no customers coming in.lol And I went straight down to the MP's office. The memo  on the doort said Friday afternoon appointment only but hey I took my chances and knocked. They let me and they were so nice. I told them I saw the sign I just have a question. So I told the what it was about and bam oh yes yes sit right down. She asked me who we are dealing with and as soon as I said Jamaica. WOW her look was like here we go again. They are the slowest office around, been dealing with them for a family who is waiting for the 4 kids and they loose things etc etc.
She said all she needed was his B# and fired off a email right there. She said if we don't hear something within 2 weeks they will try another  approach.
Another employee came in and was asking what we were working on. She told him and I said about the notes. He said they used to be real good at giving them all they info when they would call Ottawa, but not so much anymore. And that Ottawa would email them the notes but stopped that to.
So we will wait and see what happens next if they are lucky enough to get a reply.

YAY...GLO. Glad you finally contacted the MP.

I hate how KG works. This whole immigration thing needs some shaking up.

Take ecas for example. They should at least post what they are doing each step. So that you know where you are in the process instead of sitting for months waiting with no news.

Anyways I hope you hear something positive soon Glo.

 Hi everyone,

I have finally got the documents from my daughter. We are not paying the fees online. What I want to know is it okay if on the payment form I write my name as the payer or should it have the sponsor. I have already fill it out. If it,s not that way can I use a white out and write my sponsor name. The thing it takes about two weeks to get another form. What do you think. Thanks I want to send off the application Monday (April 12).

Iambless

You know that is a really good question...LOL...and i never thought of it considering it.. most times with (OUTLAND) its the sponsor whom pays the fees here..so but know you have the sponsored person here in canada wanting to pay the fees..

&... You shouldnt have and issue paying the fees and putting your name on the payer info ..You are on the file and the primary applicant  and either way as long as the fees are payed then there shouldnt be an issue with it . Call the CIC call center Monday morning and have them give you a definate answer ..Best advice i can offer...

1 888 242‑2100 wait for the prompt to talk to a live immigration officer..
During my process i called several times while putting the papers together ...and asked (at times) ridiculous questions BUT i wanted to make sure ...and most times it was confirming what i already thought...HEY!! I figure i am paying all this money so if i wanna call and harass the TIHS out of them i will..HEHE..So it goes ...didnt get me very far tho i still made a *censored word* load of mistakes ...But hey !!!....sometimes i wish i found this place b4 i put my papers in ..mabey my long process wouldnt have been so long after all!! LOL ...who am i kidding Tongue Hehe...

So yah call the place and just double check... best answer  Cheesy

Hey all,

I am very sorry for your close loss Missing. My prayers are with you and your family during this time of mourning.

Guys, you all think the Kingston office is slow at processing applications? How about dealing with the Port of Spain office in Trinidad? Some of you may just want to cry each day trying to get in touch with that office or getting any correspondence from them. It's 8 months and still haven't heard a word besides AOR from POS.

I get so freaking frustrated that sometimes I want to sit and cry my rass off. My case is an ARC case as well but are they so cruel to keep dragging on my application?

I actually have a few questions:

I haven't yet paid for my RPRF. Does anybody approve or disapprove of this? I was at one point thinking I should get my partner to pay for it through the bank in Canada

My contact information is my address in Canada. Do you think this is perhaps one of the reasons why they are taking forever to process my case taking into consideration that I am still in Canada?

They haven't requested any documents from me. Is that a good or bad sign and shouldn't they have least asked for originals of something or the other?

For those dealing with ARC, Port of Spain told me once that ARC forms part of the application process. Is this a true fact?

I am a little worried for the ARC part of my application but yet again, I was only a failed Refugee and PRRA applicant.

Thanks for all the success stories and wonderful commentary from everyone in the forum. It is really a pleasure going through most of the comments. They are very helpful and provide lots of background information on this never ending process.

Have a wonderful weekend all Smiley

I can't help but stress how SLOWWW this office is. My meds have expired in March and I don't know how long my police clearance from Canada will last.

hey everyone,

I just found this post in another thread and thought I would share it with all you loveee birds in this family forum ... I am not so sure if this is real or not .. maybe some feedback would help prove it

This post applies to people from visa exempt countries who are not in Canada at present,
who are married (or are in a similar relationship as defined by CIC) and who will, or have applied for PR.

So you want to stay in Canada with your spouse while your PR application is being processed?
What you need to do is apply for extended visitor status. You can do this at the time you enter Canada at your point of entry.

From the details I have found, I understand the following:

1. Arrive at the border with your spouse (Mandatory).
2. Carry your marriage certificate.
3. Carry at least one of the following:
           a) the partially completed forms to apply for PR (lowest level of proof) or
           b) the receipt of payment for the PR application (better proof) or
           c) details of your sponsors approval (really good proof).
4. Let your Canadian partner do ALL the talking.
5. Your Canadian partner should tell the IO that you are his/her  wife/husband and he/she has applied for your permanent status.
You will be sent to secondary screening at this point.

6. Your Canadian partner must prove to the secondary screening IO that you are married.
7. Your Canadian partner must be prepared to present proof that you actually intend to file, or have filed a PR application.
8. There will be questions about financial support and home address in Canada.
9. What you want is a visitors record (VR), the POE officer at secondary screening can issue this.

The length of time allowed on the VR can be six months or as long as the POE officer decides, either way you can apply to extend a VR once you are in Canada.

Given that you do all this it is likely the officer will grant you entry to wait in Canada for your PR to be approved.
But as usual, there are no guarantees.

I suspect, (but do not know) that you still need to meet all the usual requirements as "a visitor".
And I assume that will include things like intent to return to your non Canadian country.

Of course flying you and your partner between counties is expensive;
For those who do not live in the USA, and are visa exempt, it may be less expensive to fly into the USA and get your partner to drive over the land border to meet you, returning to Canada together.

Additions, corrections, comments and experiences are welcome.

Glo, that is some seriously good news! Grin

I agree that Ecase should be more up to date that would save the million phone calls that KG and every other Embassy is getting.

longdistance - congrats!!!!

Blessings to you all - have a great weekend! Smiley
