My hubby is the same way. he doesnt want to know until he is approved for fear of rejection. Can't blame him.. Getting hopes too high only to be let down is a disaster waiting to happen. I just tell him little tidbits now... I do all my immigration talking to you here on the forum!

Plus most men can't handle too much detail and info. They just want to know the results. So better save yourself the air and put it in writing to us.

I hear you Blondie.  Plus women have far more inquisitive minds then most men anyhow.  We like to analyze things and break things down lol even things that are very trivial.   I will follow your lead and do all my immigration talking right here as well.  Thank God for this forum!

Haha!!!  Now you tell me.  LOL  You ladies are so right, I can hear it brewing in him today.  So from here on out I will keep my mouth shut unless I have something positive to tell him or if he gets curious and asks.  Good looking out HalfMoon!

I just went through your scenario then it became, "any updates today babes?" "no sweetie"...silence. "ok alright I'll check while you're on the phone with me (knowing full well there aren't any updates just to show him that I'm not just sitting here doing nothing). No updates babes....but we'll check again tomorrow ok?" Then I feel his heart breaking (litterally) from my end.

Everytime we check and I have to give him the bad news, it got him down more and more until he shut down on me. Don't do it girl.

Meanwhile, though, I baked a French Vanilla cake and used chocolate frosting to cement the layers and cover it.  Hubby was bemoaning the fact that I hardly bake anymore.  I said to him, "You know I bake most when I am stressed, right?"  His response was to ask if there's anything he can stress me out about so he can get some cake.    Now it is sitting there looking yummy, he is playing video games, and I have to keep reminding myself that I am trying to maintain my current weight.

He went through shut down mode on you too? NOT to say I'm happy to hear that whatsoever but it comforting to know I'm not the only one who experiences this.

When I was a senior (staff accountant), I would bake brownies for each department member's birthday.  There were 8 of us, and they would share with the rest of the staff, so having your birthday during the week became a big deal in the office, LOL.  I figured it was a really cheap way to motivate the staff, having something nice done for you that you could share on your birthday while at work.
