I try to see my hubby every month if I can, there are some good deals if you want to go after Independence Day.  Try Delta airlines going down and returning Westjet or Air Canada into MBJ.  I found $450 tax included.  September, is the best time to go for real, last year I got my flight in September for $325 tax included with Westjet.  We stayed at the Grand Palladium for $100/night.  Just crazy, crazy deals.

Just a word of advise for all of you with Step-children...not to sound negative, but just to give you the other side, be aware there is always 3 sides of every story. Dont be so quick to discount the word of others on what went down in a previous relationship. I have no step children, but I am a "baby mother" and my 2 babyfathers would probably have ppl believe I am satan. They make sure to tell any women they meet how horrible I am. However that of course is not my opinion and I could give you a million reasons why not, but the fact remains I am my children natural mother, nothing will ever change that. I know this may not be the case for nuff of you (especially with a 2 month old being left but her mom, not cool) so I do understand every story is different however, just try keep an open mind when it comes to the other parent of your step children. At the end of the day, dogging the bio mom or dad (no matter how much you may know that they are wutless) really only harms the child, because they are a part of that person. My husband has lived and breathed foolishness from my babyfather, but he NEVER speaks of them at all. In fact my children begged me to change their last name to his, and he said no out of respect for thei father, even though he has been the only father in their life and has not only supported them mentally but financially instead of their bio dad. Just food for thought peeps.

I think if the children want their step-father's name they should be allowed to have it, especially your hubby who sounds like such a good man, it would give those kids the acceptance they're searching for.  Parenting is more than just biological, let me tell you.  It's about the one who God inspires and brings into that childs life to love them and help shape their destiny.  You should really rethink the name thing, my kids want my husbands name and as soons as I get around to legally changing mine (because they can only have it if I legally change mine, I think) they will have it too.  Besides it's such a nice name "King".  My hubby is a King (right baby) .

MRS LWSN .... i feel you totally on what you are saying and i by no means am bad mouthing her infact even after all the bull*censored word* she pulled i tried to maintain a respectful relation with her .... I KNOW the situation of how she came about and how the relatioship began and ended not just by his word but by hers as well ( infact there was no reltionship to speak of .....long ass story) but the fact is hse is the childs mother and i being a mother myself tired to give her the benefit of the doubt but the fact remains she is wutless and no matter how much we try to make situations work with her she always wants to drag things through the mud so yes ..... i am a hot head and there is only so many times you can turn the other cheek ... so yes there have been times when i got right down in the mud with her ass.... i regret nothing that i did in concerns to her because i see myslef as any parent would do when your young is brought into a stiuation that they do not belong and someone is taking shots at your child you turn into a tigress and will defend your young ....straight i knocked her ass flat and would do it again in a flat second

I have no issues with it, but he said no, he didnt feel comfortable messing with another mans name. I can respect that. I personally know my babyfather dont deserve to have my children bear their name, but fair is fair, I respect that my husband is mindful in his own right of their bio father. They definatly dont deserve any bly by my husband, but thats the kind of upstanding man he is.

As for fighting with the ex's...been there done that, had one of my babyfather's ex try come pull something on my while in court for child support. No one is a hot head like me, and yes we did come to blows...something to the effect that she said if I really needed pampers for my kids, that SHE was his woman now I should have or could have called HER....uh yea I didnt take that too well being as I had never heard of her, and last I checked it was me n him alone who procreated with no help from her and a chair did make an instant connection with her...however, looking back I should have just smiled, and said nothing, because in the long run, all that aggravation and hype was for nothing. Where is that woman today 8 years later? no one knows. What did the court do? award me full custody and child support to which he owes every penny since 2004, totalling over 80,000 and counting...so you see, you really have to pick n choose battles, and certain things you need to let go.
