Thank you for sharing MrsLWSN - That will be very helpful for many who are still sorting out their apps or are looking for ideas to prove their relationships. I'm glad to know that 95% percent of what you provided were what I provided (except for the plane tickets part which we did provide) Smiley
We each wrote a letter about 3 pages long; one for the sponsor side and one for the PR side. This outlined and told our stories from our own perspectives. Kept the answers on the app very direct and to the point. I guess key is to provide exactly what they're asking but not going over board. There's a difference between justify and dignify. Our goal was to keep our app "clean cut".  We even addressed "in general" good and bad days; how we handle disagreements with end an goal of finding compromise and common ground. I believe if you paint your partner out to be totally perfect, it looks unrealistic (ladies and gents, we know that unrealistic).  These are ppl who have families and spouses themselves so it's better to keep things totally real; show balance. We talked about how we've grown as a couple, our plans for near and long term future.  I guess we all have different circumstances and cannot compare one app to the next; some may be speedfast and others may take much longer however our common thread is not trying to prove its genuine (why try to prove something that already is) but rather eliminate any doubt from their minds; just one is enough for them to deny no matter how real you know the relationship is.

Hi MrsIwsn, believe me you are just one of the lucky ones, because what you described is exactly how we submitted our paperwork, we waited, I submitted over 200 pics of hubby, kids, me, family , friends, over 10 vacations together, itineraries, everything, 2 page letter like you as well and yet we're still waiting and we applied before you.  So I think this whole thing is just the luck of the draw.  There are no prescribed ways of getting through quick, I think it may have something to do with the IO who gets your app, some may be better and more diligent than others.  Count your lucky stars, that your process was as quick and simple as it was, I'm happy for you.

With all due respect, I would disagree that MrsLWSN received a speedy approval by "luck" - I do believe that it was her time - not a day less nor day more. Each one of us have a predetermined set day for approval - we just have to trust that for whatever reasons, whether a speedy or long process, that is the set plan. Smiley

Last question, that means that one way tickets are available to purchase on either of the airlines? AC and West Jet?

Yes Halfmoon,  I book one way tickets all the time as it actually is cheaper than booking roundtrip (there's a free travel tip for you  Cheesy).  You can do it even online.  I respect your input on the other note, I think it's all a matter of opinion and we all deal with the stress and pressure of waiting in different ways.  I think we both agree that MrsIwsn is blessed to have gotten through in 5 months, that's great for her and hubby.  Send some of it my way please  Cheesy

Thanks for your note FLK - and thanks for the tip! Every time I book, it always asks for return date so now I learn something new! thank you for that. As for the array of emotions we all go through, most important is try not to worry. Easier said than done, but based on my life experiences, when we worry about things we have no control over, it actually intensifies the situation and in many instances can make matters even worse. If we can keep our faith high and believe that the best possible outcomes will happen, it always does. You WILL be reunited with your husband very shortly. Smiley

I know you're right Halfmoon.  About 6 months ago I was calm cool and collective, then the last month or so starting to get frustrated again  Undecided.  This is an emotional rollercoaster, I have faith in God alright it is Him who brought me this far with my sanity Cool.

Because your husband's medical record is past the 1 year mark, it wouldn't hurt to "consult" with them on this and see if they will provide you with details on where your application stands. It's and indirect way in hopes of getting some answers?

I get what your saying though.  What through email you think?  That will take 1 month for them to answer, i think this whole can't get any status on your application thing and we're supposed to be the priority for immigration is a joke.  I can think of a million reasons why I think this immigration system is unjust.  What well meaning two people in love wouldn't want to get on with the intimate and companionship of their marriage.  Making decisions together, something as simple as sharing a meal together or going to the grocery store seems like a luxury to us.  I tell you one thing this process is teaching me BIG TIME and that is NEVER to take my husband and the time we have together for granted and I pray to God that He will never let me forget ths experience for as long as He gives me breath to love my husband.  I better not talk about this anymore because I will just get depressed Cry.

If I was in your shoes, I would press the MP the reason why they are estimating 2013? Let them know that you appreciate them providing you with a time line however, what are the reasons? If immigration requires each applicant to pay good hard earned money for medicals and PPC to be done and they aren't working diligently to approve within one year, then why not just request that at a later point so it would be less of a chance for expiry and having to pay again! As per their operating manual, their objective is to approve 80% of applications under 6 months.  Compare 6 months to 16 months would be deemed unreasonable if you ask a reasonable person in my opinion. If unless there are factors such as criminality, discovery of untruths, etc, then there should be no reason why one's application should be in the pipeline that long.

As for the emailing, you can email them directly to the email address provided in your AOR letter. Ensure you indicate your file number. Based on what I've seen from other ppls feedback, it appears KG is diligent with responding.

My hubby thinks I'm already going crazy! He doesn't want to know anything until it is finished as he doesn't want to be let down...
Yet let doWn for me is not an option! NOT!

Kingston does respond and can be very helpful. I have had to email them a few times when getting my children's citizenship and also for my spousal application. They usually respond within 5 working days.
