Advise KG once he has changed employers. There is no need to do it before, from now to October is a while, things could change again. I changed jobs twice in the time our application was being processed, and both times I advised them after I was settled into the new job. There were no issues for us doing it that way.

If it looks like his unemployment period could be prolonged, then advise KG as soon as that becomes apparent. If he doesn't have any good leads on the new job after a month, then it is time to update KG on him being unemployed.

I just sent them a case-specific enquiry email, saying that I was updating information relevant to my application. They won't actually answer it, but it does give you an automated reply to say they have received it. As far as I am concerned, that fulfills my end of the bargain.

Chickie, I would add him as accompanying on the application in your shoes. Remember, the visas last as long as the medicals do, so whatever happens they will have some time to use them. You don't necessarily have to bring the children immediately, if for example, they get through in the middle of the school year and you still need to organize for them to get into a school here in Canada etc. As long as they land before the visa expires, it will be fine. And, as you pointed out, it's only $150 now, as opposed to $750 later.
CharlieD, I thought if you didn't put the children on your original Immigration Application then there was no hope for applying for them in the future?

That depends what you mean by not putting them on the application. 1) If you mean they are listed as "non-accompanying dependents" on the application, then as long as they are declared as dependents and medically examined, then you can sponsor them in the future. 2) If you mean the child is NOT on the application anywhere at all, then you can NEVER sponsor them ever. 3) If you declared the child (put his name on the application) but said you don't know where he is and you can't get him medically examined, then you can't sponsor him in future either. Which situation is yours? I read your previous post as (1) but maybe I mis-read it?

Not my post it was Chickie72. I believe she did not have the child on the app at first at all it seems and she was asking if she should put them on now or wait until after and apply for them, I was telling her that if she didn't put them on or put them on and did not do the medical then she cannot apply for them in the future at all. Is that right?

Ohh...I read her post entirely differently. I read where she said to "put the child on the application" as meaning she has the child listed as a non-accompanying dependent and was wondering if they should change that to accompanying dependent.
You are correct, though, if a dependent is not declared and examined on a parent's application for PR, they cannot be sponsored in future. Section 117(9)(d) is the relevant section of the Regulations, and it is pretty much ironclad. They don't care why the dependent was not declared, it is cut and dried: no declaration + no examination = no sponsorship ever.

Needing advice Fam,
My husband's PPC is expiring at the end of July... Is there anything I can do? MP refuses to try anything. Is it just my luck that is will expire and hope that they don't ask for a new one or could I email them myself a reminder? any advice would be appreciated! Thank you!

I didn't even know that the Police Check expired, I thought it was only the medical that expired after 12 months.

He will be asked for a new one, most likely. I can't recall seeing a case of a Jamaican spouse who didn't have to renew their Jamaican PCC. You could email them, but they will likely send you a stock answer.
PCC and medicals are good for a year. In the case of the PCC, the application has to reach CPC-M before it is 3 months old, then it is valid for a year.

Could you just go do another one and send it in without them asking just to cut down the time of waiting for them to ask for it? And the medical as well, could my hubby and step-son just go redo that?
