Ok question, my hubby spent 3 years in Canada, does Kingston send for the RCMP check or should that be done ourselves? Is it something I can get now while I am waiting?

Thank you........I am going to be in the forum for 5 gnikcuf years the amount of stuff that is missing and needed, crap sakes, why do I listen to a man?HuhHuh

1. Birth certificate with fathers name on it.
2. Birth certificate and passport for step daughter
3. Marriage certificate has to be sent in. (didnt' have it yet when applied)
4. Medicals for both of them
5. Police check for hubby and I guess now an RCMP check too?Huh
6. Probably a DNA test since his name wasn't on the original birth certificate.

Yeah anyone wanna guess my time line for #*($#)$ sake!

Not so much stressing about the RCMP check itself he has no criminal record here in Canada just that it is another thing to wait for. Since he has been in Canada before does that mean he will need an arc also?

Unless he left under a departure order or deportation, he does not need ARC.  If he does, the IO considering his application will consider his need for ARC and what his recommendation should be.  You will then be advised of any steps needed to get the authorization, such as paying the relevant fees and submitting any documents required.

Hello everyone. I was reading many wonderful stories on this forum and also some struggles everyone has been through. I really enjoy this forum and the wonderful people. Congrats to everyone on the landing stories, they are truly wonderful. I just wanted to share some more with you guys even thought I haven't posted often but I guaranteed you all I read the forum everyday. So I have been checking ecas everyday since Mississauga send my application to Kingston and nothing but today I got some good news, hubby called me and notified me that Kingston visa office called him and notified him I need to pay the remaining 550 and he should bring in his passport and return label from Tara or one of those courier agencies either on a Monday or Wednesday. Of course tomorrow I am off to pay the fee and he is off on Monday to had in his passport.

Hey jamdownwife, congratulations on the PPR!  You are so near, get to planning your reunion!  Cheesy

Couple things you may want to double-check, the RPRF fee is $490, and passport drop-off days are Tuesdays and Thursdays, up to last month when I did mine those were the days they gave me to bring them in.

Hey CharlieD, your right the fee is 490 I don't know where I got the 550 from but yea they told him Monday or Wednesday he also has to bring photos I don't know if that is the reason why the dates are different. Do you know how long till they return passport with visa stamped.

I got mine back within 2 weeks of submitting it, and that is an average time, as people have gotten their passports back anywhere from one to three weeks after submission.

My husband had to wait for the req from kingston but yes this is another obstacle that add further time to the process. My husband sent his in apr 25, kingston confirmed for me today the prints are en route to canada.

Hey Tintin, do you mean you need the RCMP check or the ARC. My husband was denied refugee and we paid his ticket home and confirmed before the flight and the day of the flight that he was leaving. I am hoping we don't need an ARC as we did everything we were supposed to. I guess it will just be a matter of waiting to see if they ask I guess.

My husband will also need a ARC because he waited for PRAA and it was denied. However your case sounds like he left after his refugee denial so as long as you left within the 30 days after the refugee denial, then you will not need the ARC. My husband appealed the refugee denial so in Canada's eyes thats pretty much overstaying.  However because your husband lived here over 6 months the RCMP check will def have to be done. The best part is you will not need the ARC, that saves $400 and 2 months extra on your processing time. As long as you didn't wait for PRAA and left the date they told you to after the refugee denial, you should not need a ARC.

Hey TinTin, I am exactly in the same shoes as you, his PRRA was denied and they told him he had to leave in 30 days, and we paid for the ticket ourselves. I thought that if you did everything correctly and left on time and verified at each airport, then you were ok and didn't need an ARC? Well grrrr, that's another thing to add to the list. I was hoping he would be back here by Christmas but by the looks of it there is no way. What step in the process are you at right now (besides waiting LOL).
