Question for anyone who knows. My husband want to apply for his ohip, however they need proof of address. Basically, I have already asked this question on the forum, I have also called service Ontario and they both say u need something like a bank statement. Because he is not on my lease, nor any of the other "proof of address". The reason I'm bringing this up is because hubby has a friend who came up as a pr and has told him he did not have to show a bank statement. This friend is currently in Alberta so I'm unclear as to if he got health care out there and the rules are different? I hate when u tell a person one thing u are sure of, then someone tells them another thing, which is wrong info and plants stupid ideas into ppl head. Kmt. I am annoyed.

Good morning! Happy Hump Day to one and all! Mrslwsn, so far as I know, the rules are different in AB, including that they do not have a waiting period for healthcare coverage, unlike ON that requires a 90-day wait for everyone. The form specifically says you need to provide proof that your primary residence is in ON, which is what hubby told me when he was printing them up for me. Canuck... You are so right "don't let the things you have no control over take control of you". My husband said the same thing to me earlier this morning. I was feeling a little down. However I'm trying to up lift my spirit today. My time is very near I know it. I made it thus far. Thanks for the joke. Here is one my husband sent me yesterday...

Hey everyone,
I haven't posted much but I did keep up with all your posts here. As such, I feel obligated to let you guys know that my file is officially closed. Surprising that it all came through so quickly considering they requested an FBI background check. Thank you all for your posts, it's been comforting to see how everyone else's file progressed.
Partner got the call last week Thursday to drop off passports (his and the kids') yesterday. Waiting for a call-back to pick up the passports since they have to leave by the end of May (that's when the medical was completed).
Just a refresher: we mailed off the application package July 23, 2011.

[/size] That's sooo awesome green!! So day 2, hubby @ work ..when he comes home I dont know wheather to laugh or cry....I feel so bad, he's full of dust and dirt, he's doing construction on new homes, it's tough work...but as soon as I see him walking up the driveway he's got this HUGE smile on his face...says the crew on site is great, works with good guys, his boss even lights a spliff and shares at lunch break...so he's doing just fine... today he told me while he was working he saw a baby bunny so he dropped the hammer and made a run for it, caught it and showed the guys..he asked his boss if he could keep it in his truck and bring it home...  I could only imagine what the boss thought of that he says they laugh and joke a lot on site, so he's doing good! @ Here I was worried he was gonna get sick, but it's me that got sick...didnt make it into work, my tonsils are a mess...feelin horrible.  we went to a mortgage seminar today, for first time home buyers, was really informative...6-12 months and we will be new homeowners that's our goal! Cant wait for everyone to be reunited, it feels wonderful! Charlie get packin my lady!! ur turn soon come and thanks everyone for the congrats!! |
