Hey Family,
Hope all is well. Taking it easy this weekend. No major plans. Happy 4 those who have their spouse and family home with them. Baby shower is 2 weeks away. Hoping and praying that KG will be so kind to hand him his visa by then. Well enjoy the weekend. No snow in Toronto, a little cool but comfortable.

I have a question and was wondering if someone could help me. My husband has two daughters, one is 11 and the other is 22. The 11 year old is included on his application and we are trying to bring her up here when he comes. The 22 year old was too old to be put on the application but my question is, is there some other way to bring her to Canada also. When I went to JA last week, I met her for the first time and we discussed her coming to Canada and I told her I would look into ways to bring her here and see if there was some way. She has a job and everything so I know she can apply for a visitors visa (doesn't mean they will approve that though) but would like to know if we can get her here permanently also?

Chickie, she can only come permanently under her own merit, such as through one of the economic classes (skilled worker, e.g.). If she chooses to pursue one of those types of applications, she will receive points under "Adaptability" for having close relatives in Canada.

Once her Dad gets his PR if they can prove that she has been dependant on him since before the age of 22 then it should be no problem. For me I've always been in school and am still in school. She is working already, which means she is not fully dependent on her father. It places her outside the eligibility for being sponsored even though she is over 22. Furthermore, she can't go back to being dependent on him, because it must be that she was continuously dependent at all material times during the processing of the application.

Hello everyone. I am new to this forum and not quite use to it. But i'm hoping i can get advice and relevant information to more pros on this form. Here is my timeline

Application Received and Medical Received May 2 2012 for pernament residence

I am also applying outland as my hubby is in Jamaica everything was just approved awhile ago but I hope Kingston is pretty fast as this. Hoping for good news soon.
