Kc, thanks for sharing Smiley that is for sure one thing that i worry about, I want him to gain his own independance and I know this will be hard at first because I am all he has...I almost feel he was little spoiled during this process because I pretty much did everything, all he had to do was what I said, his medical etc..he did not contribute as much time and effort or money like I did.
I want to be able to count on him as well...I can see what you mean about 50-50 amd compromise! I want to be his equal.
thanks again for sharing!

Anada, not being mean here...but you need to READ that application, not once , not twice but many times.....Read it and learn it! you can take advice from people on here and no one else...In my opinion! This will help with the unnecessary panic attacks...you just stressed yourself out..no more of that! Smiley

it's a bee-yacth, but when she's good and ready to be mailed it's a huge relief!

when I first came here, hell I was willing to pay someone to do it for me! But chelley kicked my butt into gear and gave me the same advice-start reading,  I had 2 copies od the app, one was mine(working copy) red pen / highlighed like a Christmas tree and the other was "the one"

it will all come together, just take your time -took me 5 months Lips sealed .....doesnt help I would come home and drive around the block a few times...but i gotter done!

Anada, the DMP must have thought it was a redo, it is as smoki stated, 4 photos but I believe there were of different size than the PP. Her BC, PP and made an appointment. It does have to accompany your application.
As far as prepping the Mrs, I did pretty much what chelley and nae stated. Took tons of pics of the town, malls, scenery during the 4 seasons, took the web cam around the house and the yard during the seasons. Also sent pics of choices for bedding, furniture etc so we could pick them out together which made her feel a little more involved and make my home hers as well. Arranged get togethers with family and friends right away and trips to larger cities so she could get a feel for the size of CA and the things that are available. Took her grocery shopping so she could pick up some of her favourite foods and of course buyinhg a few more pairs of heels. She adapted much better than I thought as we landed in -30 weather. She loved her first snowfall and driving through the snow with it swirling up behind vehicles. We spent the first few days travelling around meeting everyone but only had 1 day at home before I had to go back to work, would have taken more time in hindsight. She was fascinated with the dryer, dishwasher and furnace. She loves the hot water. Her first trip up an escalator was challenging. She only tried a steak after I ordered one and now loves our beef. She started cooking only JA dishes for the first while now it's about 50-50. I knew she loves flowers so I bought a bunch of plants so the place looked lush, ok, some of them were plastic but had all the colours of JA plants. Made sure I had selected enough cable channels so she could watch her favourite shows. Went to the liquor store and ordered Red Stripe and her favourite wine. Had friends over the first weekend so she made friends very quickly which gave her somewhere to go when I was at work. only thing I'd do different was to have been home for a few more days but she seemed to enjoy checking all the gadgets out though on her own. Haven't convinced her to use the breadmaker though.
Have a good weekend all

I had to laugh at the rice cooker comment suki!  using an electric stove is very different than a gas stove.  My hubby cooked everything on high, hot hot hot...and burned many things.  lol he's still not used to it!  We have a rice cooker too, we tried rice n peas in it once but because he can't control the heat or the timing he prefers to burn it on the stove instead lol  Tongue  Cool

My husband got a letter requesting he go to kingston to get a complete set of fingerprints. Are these prints to be sent to Canada for his background check since he lived here before?

Hello everyone Old and new Smiley
Congratulations Suki!!! Woot, woot!!! Glad you're at the end, such a relief isn't it???

@  Chelley-oddly enough I was thinking about hubby and chicken pox today, gonna look into the shot for adults because that would not be fun AT ALL!!

Thanks for the "settling in" tips from everyone...it helps to hear from others who have already gone through! April's almost done, hoping and praying to hear something else on my file and for others as well.

Lots to keep up with here, hope I haven't missed anyone or anything new..congrats either way all around!
Have a great weekend everyone.

Afternoon everyone!  So happy it's the weekend now!

Whoo, lots of reading to do today!  Thank you to canuck, chelley, nae-nae and kc416 for the settling in tips!  I know that hubby has done quite a number of those things to prepare me, like canuck said, tons of pics, walking around in the house and the yard with a webcam so I could get a feel for things.  He also planned menus for me (he rocks at that) and he would ask me what he should make for dinner for himself and then do whatever we agreed on.  He made a reading nook for me in the den, so I can read to my heart's content in my own little space.

In preparation for my arrival, he has already printed up the SIN and OHIP application forms, all I have to do pretty much is sign them once I get there.  He even talked to his bank and advised them he will be applying for a joint account, and they gave him everything he needed for that, again all he needs is my signature to get them done.

Tintin79, I definitely think that is the sign that hubby's RCMP check is about to be initiated.  Get him to Kingston ASAP!

Wow, yu guys really did a lot of preparation for spouses arrivals. LOL, I haven't even cleaned out a draw. Well my man doesn't cook much so I'm not sure how much he will do here, and if I know him well he would b insulted if I tried to show him pics etc of things here, I did tho yrs ago send him pics of me n kids in the snow & he liked them lol, but like random pics for him to get to know Canada? Oh gosh, he would cuss. LOL. I really will have to report back after he is here for a week because he is an interesting character, very non chalant and a bit stush lol, so he is probably going to act like its no big deal, like he has been here all the while Roll Eyes
I totally agree with kc416 I am mostly worried about how he is going to accept being dependant on me for a while because he is completely independent, and actually once the tables are turned I think its going to be really tuff for him to accept.
I think too him getting a job right away will make a big difference and thank god we have some links in place for that.  I asked him today if he wanted me to put down anything for him and he said like what? And I said well anything yu may need...he said no, so I'm just leaving it at that.

i would do it all at once the kids have nothing to do with how long ours is taking!!!!!
