Suki - congrats on your good news!!  I am actually from Canada originally - hubby is Scottish, we have been living in Cayman for the last 4 years.  Will we ever come back?  Maybe, if only to show the boys where they were born, but its so expensive, and there are so many beautiful places to see in this world...

I've been away from Canada (in the UK and then here) for over 11 years though so I'm feeling a bit like a newcomer myself, so much has changed!  He's emailed and faxed Kingston to see if they can sort something out for us.  Sending lots of positivity for everyone!!

Anada - we were about 11 months from the day we sent our app to Mississauga to the day we got the Certificate of Permanent Residence.  It's such an awful wait regardless of how long it takes!!

Welcome aboard Ana, do stick and stay as Charlie would say. We were 9 months from the time KG got our package and as you can see, some are quicker, some are a lot slower. As Megs said you need 10 posts to edit or PM some one

Question:

What is the shortest amount of time u have ever seen a sponsoship go through from Jamaica to Canada??

Cause im seeing online that from JA it takes 16 months??

Well we sent our application in on November 24th and my hubs got call for his pp March 14th. So we just waiting for the visa. If he get it back in April that would make total time 5 months. So keep Ya head up!

How was everyone's day today? Weather has changed so much in T.O. very cold and windy today brrr. Been trying to keep busy...although the seperation is starting to take a toll on me emotionally but plan to visit JA in July

:O Suki, how marvelous is that!!!  Man, when I think all this time!  Jamaica Post just kills me, they really do!  Drop off days are Tuesdays and Thursdays, between 1:30 and 2:30 BUT seeing as your hubby is in Negril, I would suggest you guys go the DHL route, at least then he only needs to go as far as Sav-la-Mar.  Strange that the PPR letter doesn't give him instructions on how to submit his passport!  Trust KG to suddenly break their pattern and not do things properly!

Basha, I'm good!  Tired as heck, it is year-end at work, so there is a lot to get done.

Meg, if they dropped one letter off your last name, it doesn't matter.  Apparently there is only so much space on the COPR and they sometimes lose a letter when names are longer than the allowed amount of spaces.  If they mis-spelled the name completely, it can be changed when your husband is landing, they will ask him if everything is correct.
