Keishaycarr, I wish I had a factual answer for you; however I do not. If you ask Canada Immigration it is based on two factors (1) My husband was working in Canada for for a year and half (2) I'm applying for for my husband and his kids.
Truthfully, I think someone made a tremendous mistake over a year ago. My husband received the same call last year January and they proceeded to hold on to his passport until April, when they called him and told him that the medicals and police clearances expired. When we inquired about why the held onto his passport so long, they stated that they wanted to validate that he was in Jamaica. Alas, as long as my husband is on his way..... I will excuse their utter disregard for my time, my husband's time, attempt to delay our right to be a family, for now.
how many kids are u bringing and i believe if the person has been to canada before it make the process longer!!!!

Charlie... Believe me it's only by the grace of God that I have not called every news paper and radio station in the GTA as a result of what happened last year.  lostwithoutu, I'm sponsoring two kids. I know it traditionally takes longer, based on certain factors or complications, but the processing time associated with my file is inexplainable. Everyone, ponder this... Each of us everyday wake up and go to a job we either love, endure because it pays the bills or something in between based on the work ethic our parents instilled in us. Regardless, of our feelings for our jobs we complete our tasks in a reasonable amount of time and provide quality work, otherwise we're reprimanded and/or replaced. As a society we've become complacent in regards to the level of service we expect to receive. I understand and can appreciate the need for being detailed oriented and fact based, especially in light of the influx of false marriages as a result of a fad/hype that come across the CIC's desks. However, twelve, sixteen, nineteen and twenty-four months??!?!?? |

Yep, LSSO, I agree. The kind of slackness tolerated by KG where it takes a year and a half to two years to get one family sorted out is rubbish. None of those IOs could survive working under the conditions I do with set deadlines and specific time frames for handing over completed files!
