Good morning all, and welcome to Neika, our newest member.  Stick and stay, as I like to say (poetically) and welcome to the line. KG has been consistently inconsistent with AOR's, no-one in 2011 has received one (that I know of).  Basically we are seeing a trend of 8-10 months, or KG taking action about 6 months after they receive the files, so settle in for the wait, I hope you brought a comfy chair!

The most common signs to watch for are:
1.He/she is not willing to teach you about their language, customs, religion or background. (If it is different from yours)
2.If the person you are in a relationship with tells you the exact same things that they want in their life. They are just parroting you. They know these values and dreams are important to you. They will tell you anything you want to hear, you will believe that you both have the same values and expectations in life.
3.If the person is hesitant to introduce you to new people as their spouse.
4.When you visit them you always meet the same people, he/she doesn't introduce you to new people.
5.If they make up various excuses to be away from you as much as possible.
6.If they communicate with you and they tell you that they understand, but when you ask for something they play dumb or pretend they no longer understand you.
7.If they hesitant to introduce you to other family members.
8.If in your relationship no one is asking you any questions or they are easily satisfied by your answers.
9.If they are telling you they are willing to be with you under any circumstance. They do not have any hesitation to relocate to a new country.
10.If you try to reach them at times that you think they should be available and they are not. They will make up excuses as to why you couldn't reach them. Such as: no calling card, cell phone broken, bad phone connection, etc.
11.If they are asking you to perform a traditional ceremony that is not necessary and will cost more money.
12.If they tell people they are leaving their country for other reasons and not because they have married someone.
13.If on your first visit with their family it seems like they have known you for a long time. They could be trying to fool you. It takes time to get to know someone. There is a difference with people being hospitable and trying to fool you.
14.If the behavior of the person has changed once they left their country and came to your country. They seem like a different person.
15.If they were not demanding previously and they start to demand things when they get to your country. They may start demanding things that you thought they didn't really care for.
16.If they don't show an interest in any thing. When you suggest going places they really aren't interested in going.
17.If they are trying to stay away from you by making excuses that would not make sense.
18.If they are in your country and they start receiving an unusual number of phone calls. If they are on the phone and you walk into the room and they hang up the phone.
19.If they are eager to have all their documents in their possession, such as Permanent Resident card, SIN card and their passport. Or they keep asking when they will receive these cards.
20.If they are telling you that they will be somewhere and you find out they are not there and they start making excuses.
21.If they try to make most of their communication with others, such as phone calls, e-mail or letters away from you.
22.If they are not interested in things you may do together and they are eager to do things on their own.
23.If they tell you that they do not know anyone here and once they are here they have found a long lost friend.
24.If they tell you that they do know someone here and they try to spend as much time with them, staying over night or saying they have to take care of them.
25.If the person is not the same person that you have known and they are acting very different. They are telling you that you have changed and you are not the same person they knew. They start blaming you.
26.If they do not communicate with you and when you ask them, they tell you everything is fine. They seem very distant and their mind seems to be on other things.
27.As husband or wife you want the best for you partner. You want them to get familiar with the new country and their surroundings. But they insist they need to work immediately. This could mean they are getting ready to put their plan into motion.
28.If your spouse shows very little or no interest in being intimate with you. But before they got here, intimacy wasn't a problem.
29.They are very secretive about their day, when you ask them questions they get upset and defensive.
30.If they have family here and they spend a lot of time with them or want to visit them out of town for long periods of time.

There are many other signs of marriage fraud. Some are clear and some are not so clear until after they have committed the fraud. If there are red flags in your relationship pay attention to them. Do not ignore them; these could be very important signs in your relationship.

hey guys i have another question

just to give you all a little bit more background on my immigration experience

My hubby was here in canada with me for the past few years and we submitted an inland sponsorship application in 2010, however he was sent back to JA due to one year exclusion for overstaying.  So that application is now cancelled and we started a new outland application in 2011 but today i looked in ecas using the old file # for the inland app and it say PR app received July 26th and the same date shows up when in use the ouland file # in ecas.... so i am kinda confused on what to do now and dont know why it would have the same update on the old file........help

Welcome, MrsW, I have modified this morning's post to include your timeline.  You should be on the lookout for communication from KG, you are about 6 months in come next month, so tell your husband to keep the phone close.

Neika, I am not sure I understand.  You are logging in using whose information, the sponsor or the applicant?  And do you already have a file number for the Outland application which shows the date of the Inland application, is that what you mean?

i am the sponsor and my husband the applicant is in ja, but he was in canada before so at that time we had an inland sponsorship in canada.   that file is now closed because he had to leave canada due to an exclusion order, so out of curiousity i used the file # that we had for the inland sponsorship to check ecas and it said application rec'd july 26th  and our existing file (outland)  says the same thing.  so i freaked out and thought that meant that they re-opened the inland app as well

the only file # file i have is the one  i rec'd from mississauga and another # from vegreville - which was the  for the inland app.......


i guess i just want to make sure that they dont have two files opened

OK.  Well, I have never read of anyone with a similar situation, so I really don't know why that would happen.  eCAS is a mystery to me 90% of the time, especially with how inconsistently it is used.

If you received written confirmation from CPC-V that your Inland app file was closed, there shouldn't be anything to worry about, I don't see them keeping it open when your husband is unable to comply with the "in Canada" condition for it to be valid.

Well, remember that CPC-M does an overall evaluation of the application when they approve the sponsor, to ensure nothing is missing or needs to be clarified before the file goes to the VO.  In your case, it has been received in KG for almost a month, so you can take some comfort from that.  What's left now is for KG to do their thing, and that is totally out of your hands so no stressing and no freaking.  Focus forward, on what comes next.
