Good morning all, hoping to get some updates to reunite some families today or at least put them a step closer to the finish line.

Anyone knows how long kingston went quiet for last summer?

Hmm.  I started posting in September last year, and I don't think anything had happened between June and that time.  The next update on a file was posted sometime at or near the end of October.  Someone like chelley, canuck or nae can correct me if I'm wrong.

However, that being said, they were being audited last year during that same period, and the recommendations from the audit were supposed to start being put in place later in the year.

Good morning all, I hope everyone is well. Charlie is correct, the audit results were being reviewed last summer and it was dead quiet, the updates didn't start until the end of Sept. A couple got through but that was it. Lots of WTF"s happened on the forum, somethings never change eh. I hope that KG will get you guys through this summer. Visa's have to get approved by the VO Manager who no doubt travels back to CA when the weather is warm. Let's hope he/she returns soon and everyone in line gets approved.

proper - yes charlie and canuck are right...it was a long, quiet summer last year.  KG was dealing with the audit results and nothing was heard until the end of Sept/early Oct.  I do remember things were hopping once October hit....KG was banging them out like crazy.  I hope it's not the same this summer.  We have to keep in mind this forum is only a small percentage of applicants so perhaps they are working hard and cranking out PR visas to those that are not on this forum (fingers crossed)  I know of 2 individuals that are not on the forum that have gotten their visas in July so please keep the faith!  your time is coming soon

Thanks guy, I give up on trying to understand the way Kingston works. I understand this forum is only a small percentage of the applicants Kingston deals with but not hearing anything 3 months after medical redo is frustrating. I used to wonder why there were blank spaces beside a couple names on the 09 list and i assume the process just broke them like its doing to me right now. I know they're a lot of people in the world with in the world with real problems and they're people waiting even longer than me but id never wish this waiting process or the way i feel right now on my worse enemy.
I remember telling lilmaya around 2 months ago how bad i miss my family and how bad i wanna be there to see my daughter off to school on her first day since I've already missed most of her, she told me not to worry cause i'll get to see that.... now with everyday that passes and i hear nothing, i cant help but lose hope.

No apology needed, Mr Proper.  It's hard to be apart from your family, and worse to not be part of your child's life because of something like this. I'm pretty sure you do everything you possibly can from this distance, and yet you probably still feel you should be able to do more. 

Remember, this process is out of your hands, and you can only do so much and no more until it is over.  The day will come when your little one will accuse you of hovering like a helicopter over her, when you will hear long-suffering drawn-out "Daaaaaaddddd!" many times, and you will smile because you remember better than she does the times when you wanted to be there but couldn't.  Physical distance will not make her any less Daddy's girl, trust me on that one. 

Even on the darkest night of your life, you can still chase the dawn.  Your daybreak is coming soon, Mr Proper, just keep holding that.

Thanks Charlie, that's a nice song. I guess i never gave country music a fair shot since I'm usually caught up with beats and not words. These last weeks have really been down for me, i know I've done my part and its in their hands but its hard not to think about it when you're alone by yourself everyday. I dont have that close knit family here so if you've ever seen that Tom Hanks movie Cast Away, my laptop is pretty much my Wilson. Just cant wait for all this to be over and done with, i know for sure that will be one of the happiest day in my life.

proper - aww I'm sorry, I didn't realize how long it had been since you submitted your med re-do.  I can imagine "frustration" doesn't begin to describe what you and Mrs. P are feeling right now.  I hope and pray you get that call very soon, you both definitely deserve it!!

mrs proper - have you tried calling your MP?  I know some MP's are not helpful but some are and are able to light a fire under the IO's butt!!  Perhaps they can find out if there is anything else the IO needs to finalize the file?  

I know it's not my business...just trying to help.  You guys seem like such a lovely couple and shouldn't be kept apart any longer!  

please try to keep your chin up, this can't last forever!!

Glad you liked it, Mr P.  Can't say the same for the last person I sent it to.  It was my younger brother, around the time of the birth of his daughter.  He emailed me back with a reply that went something like "You b***h, how DARE you send me something that makes me cry while I'm at work?!".  Needless to say, it was a few days before he spoke to me again. 

I have seen Castaway, and believe me, I understand what you mean.  My laptop keeps me connected to my family, my husband and the few friends I talk to daily, because only one of them is anywhere near Kingston.  I work from home now, so most often I am alone too, in a city I am not terribly fond of, LOL. 

You keep on keeping on, Mr & Mrs P.  Your day will come.  It can't come too soon, but can't be stopped either.
