1) I am a Bcom graduate & have worked in a financial company for 3years & 3 months as an accountant, performing most of the duties listed in 38 NOC list for accountant. I have not done a PG or any other diploma/certificate courses. Will i be eligibe under NOC code 1111 for Accountant with a Bcom (bachelor of commerce degree).

2) "Obtained a university degree of two years or more at the bachelor's
level and completed at least 14 years of full-time or full-time equivalent studies"

The 14 years of education mentioned above in eligibility criteria, does it include 12 years of schooling + 3 year Bcom degree for me. If so i will have 15 years of study & can i claim 20 points under the above or in any other criteria.

Will schooling include the 2 years of pre-KG class or is it only form 1st standard to 12th.

Thanks in advance.

Actually, I think you need a Chartered Accountant or similar designation or a Master's Degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or MBA(Finance) etc to qualify under NOC 1111.

Follow this link :::

http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/NOC/2006/QuickSearch.aspx?val65=1111

With a Bachelor's Degree only, I think you will be classified as Bookkeepers (NOC 1231) which is not on the list. So get a CA, CGA or CMA designation or an MBA and then apply - then you will be ok.

Thanks for the info,

I looked up the link. In Employment Requirements it states the below:
"•Certified general accountants and certified management accountants require a university degree
and
Completion of a training program approved by the Society of Certified General Accountants or Society of Management Accountants and several years of on-the-job training
and
Certification by the Certified General Accountants Association or the Society of Management Accountants."

But since i am performing most of the duties of an accountant & my title is also accountant..just want to confirm do i really need to get a certification or an MBA. Because if i am eligible, then i am thinking of applying in the very near future. I also found the below info in the link... http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/tool/tool_01b.asp

"Skill Level A — Occupations usually require a university education

•Auditors, Accountants and Investment Professionals
•Human Resources and Business Service Professionals"

Kindly help

Hi...no need to be CA/CGA to apply for NOC 1111...as long as majority of your main duties are found in NOC 1111.....

if you are performing the duties of concerned NOC and have uni. degree in related field .you can apply  . No need of PG degree . because they are more concerned with duties performed.
