I send this so maybe some one have and idea what to do
I received a mail today from the cic telling me thay I am not to be considered for application as skilled worker, as (the person who revise my application) believes that I have no experience as architect enough!! funds to be given to me back, etc...
I am somewhat amused, I do have my own architectural firm for more than seven years now... more than 50 architectural projects built... and he says that I havenīt prove enough experience. I sent them original documents from my professional association (written by them in english, in their official paper, stamped and signed by the associationīs secretary with a list of my projects and time of membership) and cic (looks like) simply ignored it.
my diplomas of architecture not to mention I also have a masterīs degree in applied sciences, another diplom in structural design with reinforced concrete, as if not sent... that is so kafkian. do they read the documents?
I though all the process to be more objetive and serious, not pending of the personal perception of reality of a tiny bureaucrat. he writes (QUOTE):
"After taking into consideration the work experience supporting documentation on file, I am not satisfied that you have performed the actions described in the lead statement for the occupation or that you performed a substantial number of the main duties of the position as described in NOC. As such, I am not satisfied that you are a 2151 - Architect."
INCREDIBLE!!
I simply canīt believe it, my wife is so depressed, because we invest such an effort and illusion in all this
do you think is there some help somewhere? I donīt know what to do. I AM REALLY UPSET WITH THEIR ANSWER. NOT EVEN ASKING FOR MORE DOCS OR SOMETHING, SIMPLY REJECTION.
please answer.

I am SO sorry and cannot imagine what they were thinking? My first thought is a request for consideration IMMEDIATELY, by FAX. Trying to think of anything ELSE you can use to back up your work - perhaps a picture of you, holding YOUR DRAWINGS with the FINISHED building beside you? I am feeling almost as desperate as you to think of something MORE to show them their error. Hope others have more ideas SOON. Thinking of you two and your litte half n half. Something has to work!!!!

Along with that creative picture, I would draw their attention to the document you sent, in case they "may have overlooked it". Come on people....ideas, please.

So right Pittabread. You have to ensure that your job experience/description matches what is on the HRSDC website. That is as important as you showing the requisite experience. I think you should appeal and add the HRSDC job description into your appeal letter. You never know if you dont try, they may reconsider. Good luck.

hi you all.
the funny question is that I am architect and own a small architectural firm with my name.
I am not foster or calatrava, but I have been designing residential projects for more than seven years now. from single houses to medium, size dwellings (one of my last projects its an institutional building for the employment office about 2000 sq meters in surface with a contractorīs budget over 2 million euro) all the process made by my, from the first steps of the design to the management of these projects. so to say from the very beguinning to the last end. I do have about of 30 gygabites of projects, pictures taken in the works sites, documents... everything!
what do i have to send them? a copy of every project... it will weight about half a ton and occupy 1 cubic meter. thats crazy.
the CIC answer its so subjetive that I couldnīt hardly believe.
I must contact them, yes,
but whom, what numbers... been trying to get some all the afternoon, and looks like there is but the generic address od the CIO.
I will even write a letter to the ambassador in Spain. will start it now.
must contact them, yes.

This is the second denial I have read from people that have been refused and yet seem to have oodles of experience and meet the criteria of the NOC code.
I am not sure what is going on at CIC but I do wonder if they are now, not just looking at your credentials but also the possibility of you being able to get a job in Canada in your field of work.
As many immigrants know, getting to Canada is actually the easy part believe it or not, getting a good job is the hardest hurdle. This is being discussed in lengthy terms, not just by people on this forum but by the top people in Government, including Mr Harper.
Maybe you could research how easy it is for an immigrant architect to gain work in Canada and if your credentials match Canadian employers. This may then give you an idea of why they rejected your application.

Dear come to the point here. We are beleiving you, you must be a genuine applicant but did you put right job duties when filling the form? They must match to those mentioned on HRSDC website. Doesn't matter how big company you are you need to follow the way it works. Thanks

I am sending them a fax with copies of plannings, bills, contracts, etc and a letter to them directly to the cio with all this ... the funny is that I sent them a document from my Professional association with a list of my works.
more than that is a cubic ton of paper copies of my projects
to say about the question of finding a work is not the issue, you are either applicant or not... or are they changing the rules on the run? arbitrarily... I have more than enough of this in my country.
let see what happens

Hi FRANNE I sent a pm, but before seeing your post, another fellow told me about actually I find it very strange with the architectural degree and supporting documents you submitted but: I think you should concetrate on showing that you are working in by your self as an architect, not only own an architectural company maybe you can send some snapshots of you , meeting clients discussing projects and drawings or visiting construaction sites ofcourse company registration papers and contracts with clients if not already sent Your registraction in all proffisional architectural syndicates, registration boards that you are a member of I hope that helps Thanks
