@ russell, my entry visa valid until april 19, 2011 and it was in my old passport got a renewed my old passport...please tell me so that i know what to do next,,,thanks so much:)

Hello, i need your help..I am live-in caregiver here in BC. i wanna ask about my visa, my visa valid until oct2011 and I renew my passport today and was confused because lots of my friends told me that i need to get a re-entry visa from Philippines, I am going to have a vacation next month. is this true?
You don't need to apply for a re-entry visa. your Vsia will not expire in 11months, just bring your old passport with the old visa on it, and the new passport, use them together to enter canada after your vacation. PS, your old visa is a multi-entry, right? |

hi, yes my Visa is a multiple entry. so i won't get a re-entry visa?I will go home for a vacation on december and my visa will expire on april 19, 2011.

@ tinkermarie- yes i guess so pinagtanong tanong ko rin no need to renew nga daw ng visa ako nga i am thinking na magrenew ng passport kya lang di b yung re entry visa ko nasa lumang passport ko sabi nila it would be fine. btw, where are you sis in canada?

did you applied for PR?sabi din nila,,if you already applied for PR and it is on Process you are not allowed to go home,, totoo ba un?

yey, i just hope that it is true...merun kc nag meeting dito from embassy and was calling all the live-in caregivers to answers all issue..then my friend told me that thing na hindi pwede uuwi pag on process na ang papel...
nice to meet you too:), got lots of friends po sa calgary..

nakasulat sa kit na you are not deemed ineligible to go home and tumwag ako sa immigration lawyer it is ok as long na meron tayo daw n reentry visa , sana pag may meeting sabihin nyo masyado matagal ang processing times para sa atin. may facebook ka pwedi mo ako add thanks!

When does your WP expire? If it will expire at a much later date then get a new TRV at Seattle. Where are you in BC? @ job_seeker, i am so sorry...my visa will expire on april 19, 2011....thanks for the reply

I am not sure about the Philippine policy of Canadian TRVs on expired Philippine passports. I know they allow US visas on expired passports but am not sure about Canadian TRVs on old passports. Anyway, you need a letter from your employer that you're just going for a vacation and is coming back to work for them once your vacation is over. I read sometime ago about an unexpired TRV on an expired passport that was not honored at the Philippine Departure area so s/he had to stay behind and had to apply for a re-entry visa from the Philippines. I hope whoever that member was, that s/he enlighten us on that matter, TRVs on old passports. my work permit expire on october 2011, this would be fine?

thank you so much job_seeker, this really helps....maybe all i should do is when i get to the airport upon arrival I will ask the departure information desk/immigration if i will need to get TRV, just to make sure on it..
