Rocky272727,

The points for 2years work experience for those job on the list of 38NOC is 17. For 1year is 15 points. hence, if you interpolate for a year and half experience you should be getting approx. 16points. Check EG7 pdf document on the government website.

That is what I checked and also referred the Operational manual. You only need to have a continuous 1 year of work exp in the 38 Ministerial occupation list. In order to claim the work experience points. You need to have work experience either in 0, A or B category.

Source: CIC.GC.CA
You are a skilled worker who has at least one year of experience in one or more of the occupations listed here.

you have at least one year of continuous full-time paid work experience or the equivalent in part-time continuous employment, AND

your work experience must be Skill Type 0 (managerial occupations) or Skill Level A (professional occupations) or B (technical occupations and skilled trades) on the Canadian National Occupational Classification list, AND

you must have had this experience within the last 10 years.

He has work experience in o, A or B skill type he says so he will get 21 points. You need not have same NOC work experience in order to make yourself eligible for 21points.

Correct me if I am wrong anywhere.

1 year   15 Points
2 years  17 Points
3 years  19 Points
4 years  21 Points (MAX)

If your work experience does not meet all of the above conditions, you may not count this experience.

If you are still unconvinced then refer to http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/assess/index.asp

I agree that is what I am saying. The person gets 21 points.

Factor 3 – Work Experience
(maximum 21 points)

You must have at least one year of full-time paid work experience, or the equivalent in part-time work, in an occupation listed in the National Occupational Classification (NOC) list. Your experience must be listed in an occupation listed in Skill Type 0 or Skill Levels A or B of the NOC and it must have occurred in the past 10 years. You must have performed most of the duties, including all the essential duties, that are listed for the occupation.

PLEASE NOTE:
If your work experience is not listed in Skill Type 0 or Skill Levels A or B of the NOC, or if your experience did not occur in the past 10 years, your application will not be accepted.

He said he has 1.5 years of work exp in 38 min list and 3 years which is not in 38 list but is in skill type 0, A & B. That is why he gets 21 points as you only need to have 1 year continuous work exp in the 38 list rest cab be in 0, A & B.

The reason why I am digging it too much since I am in the same situation almost.

applicant is eligible if he has at least 1 year experience in one of the occupations on the list. in addition, if the applicant has experience in one or more occupations that are on Skill level 0, A, B and not in the lsit of 38, even then the applicant gets points for that experience.

also, there is nothing like 16 points for work experience. the points can be either 15 or 17. if applicant had only 1.5 years experience, the points are 15, not 16.

in this case, the applicant is eligible because he has more than one year experience in an occupation that is on list. in addition, the applicant has 3 years experience in another occupation which is not on list. total points for the applicant are 21.

hope this helps.

This is a very robust discussion and i can see that superior argument will prevail. All contributors are seniors and tactical. We want otrher seniors like PMM, LEON and Co to contribute so that we can have definite position
