It varies depending on the circumstances of the applicant however, if its straightforward Brit, see my timeline.

I'm also going through London!

Rachelle, where is your husband origianlly from?  From what I have read and what people have told me in the past, if your husband is European (but not Eastern European), you're application will likely move along very quickly and it should be done anywhere from 2 - 8 months (within the average waiting period).  However, if he is from the Middle East, Asia, Africa, Eastern Europe expect to wait longer than 8 months.  My husband is from Iraq and we've been waiting for over a year now . . . as you can see on my stats. Sad  Hopefully, you'll get lucky like whoopie did and you'll be finished in no time!!!  I'm so jealous of you whoopie Smiley !!!

Sadgirl, i have read your posts and really feel for you. there is nothing worse than being forcefully separated from the person you love most in life. i really hope you dont have to wait too much longer.

my husband is irish. i pretty much put the package together myself (men arent always that good at organizing Wink). it was painstaking but im pretty sure i had everything in order. i took it to an immigration lawyer who looked it over and verified there was nothing missing or incomplete. we have been very lucky (so far) that this whole process has been smooth, and very fast.

really all london is doing with your case is practicing legal racism. it's not fair! but unfortunately i dont think there is much you can do about it.

whoopi congrats. i cant imagine how it feels to finally be through this process!

they usually notify either by mail, email or phone. recently they prefer email notification.
have a good luck!
