Haven't said too much on here, even though I started the thread, because there was nothing to report.

Today, finally, I got confirmation that our application has been processed and a decison has been made. Just called CIC and was told I've been approved as a sponsor and that the PR application is on its way to London.

One down one to go!

Does the first stage sponsorship confirmation letter mentions that the application will be forwarded to the appropriate visa office? Does it mention the date of forwarding it to the visa office?

Thanks.

I haven't received a letter yet. I'll be away next week so I won't be home to open the letter to see the decision so I called the CIC call centre and they filled me in on everything.

Sponsorship confirmation will indicate the address of the visa office aborad. The won't confirm the exact date when it was sent. Once its received by the visa office aborad they will send an AOR or they will update ecas to let you know that they have received the application. Each visa office operate differently.

Hi,

Just wanted to add a note for the OP: We did get a letter from Canada confirming that the sponsorship was approved and the application was being forwarded to our local consulate.  Don't panic when you don't hear anything from London- they don't seem to issue letters to acknowledge receipt of the application.  Next communication we had was an email requesting my partner's passport along with a PDF full of instructions.  At the email stage, ECAS had not updated, but has since changed to Decision Made.

Good luck!
