Processing times are meant as guidelines, not as an agreement.

The "guidelines" stated from CIO at the time we applied stated that AORs from Sydney should take 45 to 90 days. Most of us had to wait 120 days or more for our 1st AOR (we've been calling it PER since it also includes final eligibility confirmation).

In May and June 2010 CIO received a massive influx of applications, I believe to the tune of 100,000. This, combined with lower staff over the summer holidays and lots of student holiday visas to process, meant a big summer delay during 2010, which affected everyone (post-June-2010 included).

Please show your evidence that they are showing ANY priority to post-June-26 applicants? The process for us is completely different. When our applications arrive at VO they are at a more advanced stage in the process than pre-June-26.

As for PCC, many post-June-26 applicants included it with their application to CIO (not to VO) so ours has an even shorter "time limit" given the 4+ months it took at CIO plus time to get to VO. So many of us are in the same boat there.

I strongly believe they are treating pre-June-26 and post-June-26 with equal priority at visa office. But the timelines don't match up because the process is completely different.

Please note much of the information on the process relates to 2010/2011 process. A new process is coming out for FSWP in May 2013.

Pls update my status. My original application was recieved by CIO on 24-june-2010 although it was delivered on 23-june-2010. My visa office is London.  My full documents reached at london vo on 03-Feb-2011. No second AOR received yet. E-cas showing received by visa office.
It is also mentioning Medicals have received. It is very strange that such big mistake is being done by Canadian immigration system for so long period to a lot of applicants. It also shows that Canadian immgration system is not efficient.

I think you are wrong and misjudging this. I have not seen any evidence at all that post-June-26 applicants are getting priority. >J26 (will call it <J26 for pre-June-26 and >J26 for post-June-26 for simplicity!) applications arrive at the visa office already at the needing-background/security/medicals stage.

According to ECAS our application arrived at London visa office at least 1 month ago, yet we haven't received a 2nd AOR yet (i.e. London has not begun looking at our application yet). This to me suggests it is because they are still looking at <J26 applications which have reached the background check stage. Not a single >J26 applicant from London office has heard anything yet.

Of course, once >J26 applicants go "into process", if everything is in order with their documentation and no verification checks are needed, then medical requests are issued more or less straight away. But that's to do with having a different process, not to do with getting priority over <J26 applicants.

As I mentioned in a previous post - we also had a 2 month delay before we could even APPLY because we had to get IELTS and all supporting documents before we could send our application to CIO in Sydney. So I really don't think overall >J26 are going to be any faster than <J26. We've now been over 6 months and still not had 2nd AOR yet, and that doesn't include the 2 months we had to spend gathering documents before we could apply.

As for fairness, do you think it's "fair" that post-Feb-2008 applicants get priority over those which applied in 2006 and 2007, and have been waiting 3,4,5 years? If you are going to label a process as fair or unfair, then you must also apply that to those less fortunate than you as well.

Regrettably the process does not revolved much around fairness, but more around current Canadian labour market demands, which is why post-Feb-2008 and post-June-2010 applicants will get priority over the "backlog".

Wayne.

One of New Delhi applicant who applied in the month of September at CIO has received medical request and many more who have sent their complete docs in the month of May-June at new Delhi VO are waiting and in addition to evidence for priority to post june applicants...One applicant who has two applications one is pre june and second is post june, VO called her up to tell that she should withdraw her pre june application as new one will get priority.
As far as pre feb 2008 applicants are concerned they have applied in existed processing time and are very much aware with time-span.but <J26 and >J26 both are in fast track and in existed demand list occupations so they should treat them equally... For example you have applied in NOC which is in canada's labour market demand list in the last june wat if they keep your app on hold just because now they have got new demand list ...
Will you call this process fair ?

hi lakh,

well, firstly welcome back to the forum.
secondly, i really do not think it is not fair. what i assume is everythg that is going on has certain reasons. and on the other hand, the process has NOT been completely stopped so far, and it is bit moving slow. So, do not worry, the time will come.

Once again you are comparing two totally different processes and trying to call it fair/unfair.

The applicant who "applied" in September 2010 will have had to spend maybe 2 months prior to that gathering all documents, which would otherwise have been done during what is your 120 day phase. So that's probably the equivalent of applying in June/July and then gathering documents when VO asked for them.

It seems CIO are faster at the eligibility review than visa office in most cases, which is why >J26 applicants are getting faster 2nd AORs comparatively speaking, but then again they took a couple of extra months of document gathering before they could apply. CIC have changed the process to speed things up, so they can the 120 day phase out.

Why do you not want CIC to change things to make it faster for applicants?

I cannot speak for lots of visa offices because I have only really looked into London (our visa office) in any depth, but their website clearly says they will process all post-Feb-2008 applications in the order which they arrive at the visa office - and I have seen no evidence at all that they are doing anything other than this.

<J26 applicants are getting 2nd AORs and medical requests from London, yet >J26 applicants have not heard anything at all. That to me certainly suggests >J26 are NOT getting the priority treatment you keep inferring.

Go talk to 2005/2006/2007 applicants who will probably still not get their visas this year, before crying about how unfair it all is. You seem to be taking all this rather personally m8?

hi,
I really agree with you guys.

the discussion has been made already, pls have a look at:

http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/discussion-pre26june-2010-applicants-at-cio-but-occupation-under-29-noc-list-t65428.0.html;msg628288#msg628288

Dear all,

It seems like the CIO and VO are giving high preference to the Post 26June applicants under 29 occupation list (as per todays case, they are already having the medical and passport request). I am wondering if someone, like me, who have applied as pre 26 June applicant at CIO, but having his/her occupation list under 29 NOC list, and have sent full documents to VO will be treated differently.

My question here is IF THERE IS THE HIGH DEMAND FOR THOSE 29 OCCUPATIONS, why should we NOT be included like those of post 26 june applications, and why NOT the process of our application should be as fast as them???

Any comments and discussions are highly appreciated.

No I am not taking things personally, it is just like one who is in that situation can understand it better. May be you are right about London VO cuz you are analyzing it closely. One of my aunt works in CHC New Delhi and that is told by her that CIC asks VOs to work faster on some chosen categories/NOCs in particular time.
We want CIC to make their process faster and better but not for some applicants but for all. That was only my concern.

Yes you have raised a valid question but nobody knows how VO will work on them,as you have applied in 4131 category so they will not see if you have experience of one of 29 NOC too. if you want to get priority then you have to apply afresh with new NOC but in my opinion you shud wait, your three months are already passed and process will take 11 months as per CHC.

hi lakh

thanks for the suggestion.

in my case, I have two noc job list of which one (NOT 4131) is still in the 29 noc list which was also in the 38 noc list, and I'm well experienced for both the noc list categories. Quoting ur statement "you have applied in 4131 category", I really don't have listed it prioritized. At the moment, I'm working as per 4131, but was working as another noc list 3 years ago. I have just listed out them in the "economic classes" page. I'm just wondering how the VO will treat.

Do u think it will be wise to write them a mail informing about todays situation???

Hi lamhey

Even if you have not prioritized category but this is very much obvious that you have been passed eligibility for 4131 category only, as I told you earlier that if you want to get priority then you have to apply afresh. Sending mail to them will not work as much cuz <j26 and >j26 are having altogether very different processings.

what if my another NOC (not 4131) was also listed in 38 category and also active in 29 noc list?
