Hi,

The moment my CC got charged, i applied for PCC. There r 2 ways to get that:-
Either from regional Passport office
or from local police station

I applied to my police station and i got it within a month's time. I am still awaiting AOR.

Why you were hurry in getting your PCC, i do not understand any reason...

FYI, PCC is valid for 2 months only, assume if your AOR is delayed by another 2 months the PCC will no more be valid... n you again need to apply...

Others in Reading: Please do not rush for PCC, let first AOR to come and then we will be having enough time for PCC, so cool down and do not mess up things in hurry...

PCC is "valid" for one year. However, it can be no older than 3 months old when it is first received by CIC or visa office.

Interesting!!

This document is very vague.  cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/EG7.pdf   Look at page 40, it says:

a) start gathering Police clearance certificate (PCC) when you plan to apply for CIO.
b) it (PCC) is valid for one year
c) you need to provide new certificate if your case is not finalized within one year of your validity of police certificate.
d) your police certificate can not be older than 3 months

Interestingly, if you start gathering police certificate just after you send your application to CIO, it would have older than 3 months by now (contradicts between a) and d).  If then CIC takes more than one year to decide your case, then you need to provide another one!!!  You must be kidding here!!

Think the practicability of police certificate getting from FBI, it takes 12 weeks to get if you are lucky one!!. How should we plan FBI and CIC unexpected delay of processing!!  If you have not gone back to those countries since you received the PCC, then you should not need new one!!!  They are costly and also time consuming!! What are you trying to check here in the name of PCC?

Any thoughts from seniors on this interesting issue!!

Hi Atul,

Not sure whether you are saying right. Because i checked with my consultant as well as Police station about the validity period and they said it's 6 mnths from date of issue. My CC got charged on Aug 26 and date of issue is 21st Sep.
Please advice if this is not correct.

Hi - Does anyone has idea about the status of the May month applications.  Has it been 100% completed.
Until then (i presume) we cannot expect anything to happen.  Am I right? Or has anyone got any other
better way to judge this and expect to provide a better picture.

For VO ND: do you need just ONE PCC if you:
- have been living in different cities within India since your 18th B`day
- have been living at two/three different addresses in same city within India since 18th b`day
- have been living at different addresses in different cities within India
