just thought i'd let you guys know I made it across the border and got a stamp in my passport saying im allowed to stay 6 months maybe waiting a while for sponsor approval but at least i can wait with my wife now. it makes it a lot easier and keeps me from going insane over not hearing anything at all from them. |

sorry not sure however I did read this on another forum (source www.cic.gc.ca) which may help... A visitor visa (actually, a temporary resident visa, or TRV) is a document issued to persons from countries which require it as an endorsement in their valid passport, for presentation at a Canadian port of entry. Those who don't require visas to enter Canada as visitors would normally get a stamp at the port of entry, typically allowing them to enter for six months. However, if the immigration officer has a reason to impose restrictions on the period of stay authorized, or if there are other valid reasons, a visitor record is issued. |
