Is AoR the same as the sponsorship being approved?
No... AOR - acknowledgement of receipt is sent to applicants for Permanent Residence outside Canada once the visa office or embassy processing their application opens the file and begins processing. Check out this link from Baloo for a very useful list of acronyms http://immipedia.ca/Acronyms...  |

Hi everyone! Glad I found this post. We sent our application to Mississauga last June 21 via fedex (since Canada Post was on strike). We have not received any response from CIC until now so I guess they have not started processing our application yet.

Hi everyone! Glad I found this post. We sent our application to Mississauga last June 21 via fedex (since Canada Post was on strike). We have not received any response from CIC until now so I guess they have not started processing our application yet.
Did you get a confirmation of reception by CPC in Mississauga? a courier tracking number? If your application was received by CPC-M on or around June 21 so you should be getting news anytime in the next couple of weeks. The average process times for the first stage of PR applications is approximately 45 days from the date the package is received by CPC-M. |

Welcome to June I've added you to the spreadsheet so you can keep track of how all the June apps are doing... Hi MDSB,
I was looking at the spreadsheets, to see that my application was received on 06/06/2011. Actually this is the date we send the application and it was received on 08/06/2011. Can you update the sheet again?
One more thing, I hope I will next as the last one updates as of last week was on 07/06/2011 for the guys from Sydney.

Hi Aneyshar! My husband sent our application on June 21st through Fedex. We didn't receive a confirmation of reception from CPC-M but according to the courier, it was received by CPC-M on the 22nd. Yes, we're really looking forward for the good news. |

For me, I was able to log into ecas 2 days after decision made using my online receipt number. I didn't get an email. I'm still waiting for the letter to arrive. The first time I was able to see my status on ecas was in the morning UK time. |
