I went to bank...but they said the is no way to know whether draft encashed or not...
Bt I know many of us got this info frm banks...I wonder if there is diff bw govt n pvt banks in knowing sch details...

ok let me try to explain it....if a bank has its operations/branch in canada then they have records of such financial transaction made with a canadian clients (like CIC etc)  otherwise usually our local banks have agreements with third party (Canadian) banks and route all international transactions through them and cannot know when the client enchased any fin instrument
e.g .
1. A local bank XXX makes a DD of $1100 in favor of CIC and route is through bank of Montreal
2. As soon as bank XXX issue the DD it immediately pay bank of Montreal the money with instructions to pay it to CIC on deposit of DD.
3. Now for bank XXX its not possible to know exactly when CIC present a DD at bank of Montreal for the payment (banks dont exchange record of their client's transactions). Usually they reconcile such business transactions on the end of a term/year.
Moral:   Make these transactions through a Canadian/international bank  Grin

Minister Kenney's response to lawsuits:

"I think we're already being sued by people for not processing their applications quickly enough. So, quite frankly, dealing with this [backlog] problem decisively I think will reduce any legal risk that may be posed to the government," said Mr. Kenney, when asked about the potential for lawsuits."

All PCCs have a Unique Request Number/File Number on them. When CSIS chooses to contact Police Department in any country they would use that reference number along with the passport number. A reference number would help those departments to quickly rerun through their system and send their response to the CSIS.

I strongly suggest you send it, possibly along with this information :

1) A print of covering letter (send by CIC in MR mail). Tick the FBI Report statement in that letter
2) Your explanation for supplying the FBI report now. Attach your previous correspondence saying your stay was shorter than 6 months. This helps them in getting a clear picture
3) URN number and App Number clearly mentioned on your envelope

regards,
canadafsw7216

For the purpose of immigration, the security agencies are considered for countries where an individual has lived for over 6 months. This is why the PCCs are asked from each country where the individual has stayed for over 6 months after the age of 18.

My sense is that they will not be doing security checks from each country that you have visited. There is a difference between visiting a country and living in a country. So probably , its just a matter of time.

Jason Kenney – the Energizer Bunny Goes Too Far
Posted by admin in blog

Jason Kenney has been racing across the country, making announcements about changes to the immigration system at every stop. Vancouver one day, Calgary the next . . . today it was Winnipeg. It's enough to make you dizzy!

Maybe it's making him dizzy too, because today he went too far in announcing two additional changes that will “help transform Canada's immigration system” – not, unfortunately, for the better. These changes will make Canada's immigration system one in which applicants are subject to arbitrary rule changes in mid game. People who applied in good faith under one set of rules could find themselves out in the cold when the Minister changes his mind about what kind of immigrants he wants.

One proposed change would allow new regulations, once approved, to apply retrospectively to people who have already submitted an application. “These changes” CIC gushed in their press release, “would help ensure that immigrants are chosen based on Canada's current needs and priorities”. That will be a real hit with applicants and do wonders for Canada's reputation for fairness worldwide! It will be like entering a hockey tournament and having the referee blow his whistle and tossing you out in the middle of the game because the league has just announced new rules requiring everyone to play with a baseball bat and one running shoe.

A similar change CIC says, would help then ensure FSW applicants meet current labour market needs. It would allow new rules set out in Ministerial Instructions to apply to people who have already submitted an application.

This is how CIC explains it in their press release. “For example, instructions could place a priority on a specific occupation, such as doctors, and have existing applications from doctors processed first, regardless of where they are in the queue.” To me it sounds like being at the front of the line at a club when the bouncer decides to let in “The 4 Guys” from the Captain Morgan Rum commercial because they're trending on Twitter.

Some of the changes Kenney has announced recently make sense in terms of modernising our immigration system – but this emphasis on treating immigrants as economic units instead of people and throwing out any vestiges of procedural fairness demeans Canada.

Borders Law Firm

Proposed Changes to CEC and Skilled Worker Applications

Posted: April 17, 2012 by Admin

Immigration Minister Kenney has recently announced changes... A similar change would allow new regulations, once approved, to apply retrospectively to people who have already submitted an application. There is no doubt that CIC will face a law suit over these proposed changes, as they remove all certainty for applicants and are a clear breach of procedural fairness.
